Just a heads up, Yamaha Canada is doing a price increase of 8-15% on EVERYTHING including parts and units on Jan 1/09.
If you are sitting on the fence about buying something, you should get into your dealer and get it done.

That's nice those suits, don't adjust the prices when the canadian doller was at par, forcing many of us to buy in the USA....now the doller swings back lower and Yamaha Canada is so fast at raising prices....thanks..
Not surprised one bit and something should be said about it! They are charging if you can believe this $9.63 per screw for a carburator float bowl screw that is a POS IMHO.

Well thats just great

Just asked Chis about it in Sled Talk. I know he cant change anything but an explanation that makes sense would be nice.

WTF!!!
What the hell is this all about ... like their parts and sleds don't cost enough now!
I guess we really do end up paying for the design flaws in the new phazers and nytros.
Stick it to the canadians again!
No price increase south of the border? That really makes my blood boil!!!!
Time to keep my money in Canada eh ... BRP is lookin much better with this good news!

FWIW, Arctic Cat is planning a similar increase as well but it is not official yet.
I dont know what we can do as consumers to stop getting ripped off like this by Yamaha Canada. The only way we can do this is to stop buying new from them altogether until they get the message. We will just buy the parts we need to keep our old sleds running is all we can do. At least that way we can send them a message without hurting our dealers. They make no money, so they say, on selling new sleds anyhow.

The USA will see similar price increases 300 to 400 per unit.
Dear Yamaha Snowmobile Dealer,
Due to increases in raw material costs and fluctuations in the currency
exchange rate, 2009 model Yamaha snowmobiles will be subject to a price
increase as of January 1, 2009. The average price increase will be
approximately $300 - $400 per model.
December will be one of the best times for your customers to buy, especially
when combined with the December retail promotion and the show discount
coupons that are eligible for your region.
In other words Dont Wait!!!!!!!!!!!! and complain later

This is when aftermarket companies cash in. I don’t expect to get anything for free, but when prices are unreasonable, I look elsewhere. I’m due for a new snowcheck this spring and I have an open mind.
