i tend to agree with alot of what's been said but here's another thought. i think that before the manufacturers take a hit, and i mean serious hit, i think the economy will work itself out. i think that the dealers will get hit worst...first. i don't know if the oem's require them to buy so much product or not, but i think that can be the first step, dealers buy less if the oem's allow it without pulling the brand out of the dealer. i think that suggesting the consumer will not buy stuff is similar to suggesting that everyone not buy gas for a day to teach these company's a lesson. we will still buy. the oem's will drive a big truck full of shiny stuff in front of a hotel somewhere, and the oooh's and ahhhh's will start and the next thing you know you're the proud owner of an $11,000 machine. i understand the pace at which people buy may slow, but if you look at snowmobilers in general, most, not all, but most riders have a decent chunk of change even in hard times, the truly poor folks either can't afford a sled at all or shop at the local classified and buy something used. I'm not saying everyone on this site and others is rich, but lets face it, if you can afford a 8-9k sled, even in good times you ain't "poor".
