yamaha closer kit

ohh for the tunnel, that's what i thought you where talking about but then i saw your signature and it said it was already done.

I've heard the instructions were bad! I just ate it and let my dealer install. Don't remember, but it wasn't too bad.
Sorry i wasn't any help here, but someone will. They're pretty good here.

If you didn't get the instructions that yamaha prints, I've got them as a pdf, can't figure out how to post them on here so shoot me an email if you want them: mwil80 at hotmaildotcom

I've got my suspension out and just cut a square piece of aluminum I snagged from work to cover the rear hole, took longer to fab up than install the 8 rivets with the air riveter...

Cost: $0

Thats about what I did. Went to my dads work bought some galvanized stuff ( only $3 with discount). Then cut a full retangle.

My excell closer "panel" (not sure if a sheet of aluminum and rivets really counts as a kit) is supposed to show up today, and a buddy and I are going to try to put it on tonight. Any tips going into the project on phazer disassembly and then reassembly?

These are cake to install if you pull off the seat. Biggest two tips I can give:

1. Get a pop rivet tool with a pivot head, the ones in front are tight.
2. Rivet from one corner or end to the other. Don't pop the corners and then do the ones in between. It will ripple the metal.

Drill, pop, drill, pop. I drilled and put the rivet in to hold the piece in place.

Good luck.

Thanks! I'll post pics tomorrow if we get it done, haven't seen anybody with installed pics of these "kits" on here yet anyway...
