Just wondering if anyone has any ideas to stop snow from entering the front of my nytro and filling up under my tool bag. Also how to stop snow from getting in and melting under the oil tank.

A quick fix for me was to cut a strip of 1/8 thick by 1 1/2 inch wide rubber and weave it through the vent slots leaving the top slot open. I have heard others just attach a piece of window screen in behind, bead of good caulking would probably hold the screen.

I used plumbers puddy around the front bumper and nose cone. I then put duct tape on the vent down by the oil tank and used black urathane on the front side. The vents on the side panel where covered up with black womens stockings...old lady was mad, buddies poked fun; but they work great.

snow vents
I closed the vent on the bottom right 2 yrs ago with Duct tape as I couldn't remove that section as it filled with ice around oil tank and froze the foam etc!
Never had a problem and easy to remove now if you need to check oil fuses etc.
Dealer recommended this anyway.

Would covering up the vent entirely cause any problems with the oil tank cooling? Plumbers putty is a good idea for the nose cone. Thank you
i used that outerwear cover stuff (the stuff the prefilter is made out of) and just glued it to all the vents. you can buy it in sheets from denis kirk. so far so good hope it helps

I used Butyl Tape (same tape auto glass companies use to adhere windows to vehicles) to patch all the cracks around the front bumper area. Cleaned plastic with alchohol rubs first, apply tape strips, shape with fingers. I used a heat gun to make the tape more "tacky" b4 I pressed in.
I cut strips of foam from a gun case and covered the area just below my headlight. Used the tape to make it stick
Cut some steel mesh, and rivted it to the vent in front of shock. Cut and used aluminum to make the border. Turned out ...."ok" but my fab skills are a little suspect... lol
I found some Ski Doo Frog Skins to use under my top vents. Again, used the Butyl Tape to adhere, and was still able to use stock vent cage.
Used some very fine mesh (not sure what it was made from...maybe a fine steel fibre), that I found at my work, to cover the two gaping holes by the headlight. Again, butyl tape to adhere.
That weekend, we did 200 miles. About 25 of them were playing in 3 ft of powder, and breaking trail. The Nytro vented hot air fine (I also have the Roest IP Vent). The remaining miles were cold, trail running. One morning was -33 Celcius. Everything held just fine, tape stayed put....and no more HUMUNGOUS blocks of frozen ice cubes under my tool pouch area, covering my starter relay or under my oil tank.
Some pics
$12 for a 24' roll of tape
$4 for a strip of aluminum
and 3 beers later....
