Does anyone know the weight of the "05 and newer MTN ski, with carbide and hardwear?? I am wondering what to buy?? Also what do you guys think my standard "03 MTN skis weigh with saddles and all?? Thanx Guys Scott

the weight is nothing to worry about on the new ski vs the old. The new ski has so much better flotation iut's one of the best mtn ski's on the market.

i have a set and they are definatly lighter than simmons and comparable to other skis in its class (powder pro). the only ones i think would be lighter is slydogs. i have a set and they are the lightest i have seen. but for performance i dont think anything will beat the 05 mtn ski, they just perform great in the powder!

The 05 yami mtn skis handle better everywhere. I run 9.5 inch sharper bars on mine, and they are hands down the best ski's I have ever rode with. Maxdlx

For those of you who are looking to install the mountain skis on your 03/04 Mtn, I just installed them on my 2003 Warriorized RX-1.
The parts you need are as follows:
8FK-F3711-00-00, Ski, 2x
90105-10106-00, Mounting Bolt, 2x
90387-10036-00, Sleeve, 2x
90387-16013-00, Bushing, 4x
If you refer to the Yamaha online microfiche, they are parts 1, 11, 13 & 14 respectively. You can re-arrange the bushings to adjust the ski stance afterwards.
The upgrade costs about $300 CDN for the whole shebang. I re-used my carbides & ski-loop and it looks great.

Here's the skis I will have on my RX-1 mtn and the wife's 900 RMK. I bought them for $390 a set complete with carbides and spindle kit. The skis are PPD model X-MT and are 2lbs lighter than Simmons.
