You’re right VIP8 - I was a being a little too general with the trick stuff. To be a bit milder – I should have said the aftermarket is catching up fast – especially since Dougs day. Its not really secret stuff – it’s the weight of everything. When Doug was into it thick - they had cool things like factory trick carbs with no enriching circuit – just to save weight.
Some may remember the factory oval sleds of 75. The specs on trick water-cooled cylinders (that nobody could buy) were the exact same porting specs as the GYT kits but full cc limit. OK – so the pipe was special also - you couldn’t buy that either – but that was then. But – is factory works stuff allowed in supercross today?
Purblue – Yugi is running the stock Nytro with deep lug track. So considering that …..info … he must ride well. How far a drive is it to Yellowstone for him for this weekends race? Was he on a borrowed sled and flew there?

I was watching Yugi on the e-net today to. Yugi WON!!!!! a heat race and later he got 2nd. in a nother heat race. Sunday he runs in the final. I do have to say, he sure looks good out there. I would have to say that sled is as light as light the 2strokes.RJH said:You’re right VIP8 - I was a being a little too general with the trick stuff. A little update for you all on the Yamaha Snowcross effort:
Some of us here had the opportunity to ride with several Yamaha reps this past Thursday in Eagle River. We all had breakfast and I had lots of questions for them. Regrading this topic, I can offer the following.
1.Why is Yamaha in Snowcross? There answer was immediatly- R&D first and foremost. While winning is important, that is not the primary reason they are in it.
2.What is the weight of the race sled? The Yamaha race sled weighs within 10-15 lbs of the Polaris IQ racer.

But, but, i thought it was "unbalanced, to heavy blah bla".. This can't be happening..
Oh wait, it did:

And there's this too:

Perhaps it's time to realize that it's not easy to get the setup right for snocross. And now they've seemed to get the hang if it. They're even starting to say things like "It's the riders, not the sled......" over on dootalk. It's almost scary

TTT this is a great thread! If you ever wondered why Yamaha is not currently racing sno-x or why they don't seem to understand how to race, start reading at page one.

This is my favorite!

I think it's a good decision for yamie to race their 4strokes. Win or lose, the other OEMs have yet to put their money where their mouth is to race their own 4strokes.

Here we go again. Don't even buy into it Diligaf, this thread is going no where fast and i predict wil be in the head to head by noon today...
These guys hate Yamaha's and revel any opportunity to show their "inferiority" of the other 3 brands...

Your right. Must use more restraint and just ignore them.
