Does anyone have this on their sled and if so how are the mirrors?
Do you think it will fit the Rage?

I have seen them on some sleds and set on one at the dealership, NO they dont work, you cant see past your knees. I have the stock mirrors mounted left for right and right for left. Works pretty good. I rode with a guy from Wisconsin who used the stock mirrors and mounted them further down on the side of the hood, they worked and looked great. Best idea that i've seen so far.

There will be a new kit out for next season that has the new mirrors that are on the RS Venture four stroke model. These will fit all the four-stroke sleds from Yamaha. I think they will be a very good mirror as far as what you can see out of them. They should retail for $79.95 and be available next fall.

They may be a very good mirror as far as function goes but they look too much like the Ski Do GSX mirrors! Moth antenna!
I'll have to wait until I get my sled to see if I can find a decent aftermarket set. Maybe at the Big East show in Syracuse this fall I can locate a set. The set on my Polaris 600 Classic are just about perfect for that sled.

Let's face it, mirrors just don't cut it as quality "bling-bling". It's time for a little more technology.

Trick! Now for the tough part... how much in US $
The British Pound is currently worth 1.7688 US dollars so it's about $529.
I think with a bit of searching for components a person could get it done for quite a bit less.
Personally, I'll probably go with a wrist mirror as I was not real impressed with the standard ones I mounted on my '03 RX-1.

The wrist mirror seemed like a good idea to me... until I rode with a group and the rider in front of me had one. Every time he checked his mirror I thought he was signaling a stop and it gets on you nerves after a hundred times or so. I would never subject my fellow riders to torture like that!
Good point Phantom, I remember my son telling me the same thing the year I used one because I thought mounting mirrors on my tricked out SX7 would make it look ugly.
I went back to mirrors when I got my RX1 and while they didn't make it look "bad" they weren't as functional as I would have liked. Those new "moth antennae mirrors" from the '05 Venture look like they'll have the best function at the price of fashion of course.
The issue I anticipate with using a rear view camera would be vision through the snow dust and keeping the camera lens itself clear of snow. The taillights on my RX1 always became caked with snow when I rode with saddlebags. I would have investigated a heated lens system if I kept the sled. We'll have to see how the Rage works out with the extended tunnel.
At any rate, Kevin from Port Yamaha will keep us posted on the accessories. He helps me keep all my Yamahas loaded with "bling-bling".

I had a pair of aftermarket "flag" mirrors on my 97 Polaris XLT Sp. They tucked into the area between the cowel and the flaired windshield I had on it. There were really not noticeable but worked OK.
I only want to catch the headlights on the sled behind me to make sure I didn't loose my wife! She'll be riding the 04 600 Classic next year so there shouldn't be a problem with her keeping up, it's just in the past I've ridden for miles and then noticed she wasn't there, had to double back about 5 miles one time just for the oil light flashing one time.
