Hey Dude!
I am here!
Up testing stuff in the UP, may have missed an email, am very sorry if I did!
Definitely may have missed a call, text is the best bet when up north, due to spotty cell coverage.
With your grips, if you have a defect like a "Fold"or "Kink" in the element from the factory it makes a weak point.
When you put full power to the grip the weak point will fail.
Prior to that, you never put full power to them so the weak point wouldn't fail.
Somewhat like buying something bad and putting it in the closet, if you never use it, you don't know it is bad.
That is something to take seriously when you replace any grip heating elements, you want NO folds, or kinks!
Not always easy when you are putting a flat element on a curved bar, yet very important.
Hope this helps!
You are always welcome to call me, although text is best when I'm up north.
Rock
