Yellow light indicator flashing

No idea on how to check ECU.disconnect battery for 5 minutes/reconnect see what happens.how strong is your battery, have you had it checked.a low/weak battery can cause weak electrical system.see if you can swap ECU with another apex ECU? take flashlight look inside tank at fuel filter at base of seat,a clean filter is white.turn key on and see if it cycles, its at the right corner bubbles/splashing for a sec.buddys efi F6 artic cat smart valve failed in tank would not allow more than 1 quarter throttle,it would idle but not move.not sure if apex has the samething.more things for you to look at..

check your gas tank vent line......found it to be a problem on 2 different sleds....not Yamaha.
one was pinched
the other was melted shut.
buddy had same problem on ATV.
you could always trying running it and when you see the light take the gas cap off.

At this point, I am assuming that you have inspected all the wiring and found no evidence of Chaffing.

These guys may very well be onto something here with the fuel Tank Vent line. If it is the fuel tank vent line being pinched, when the sled stalls, there would be a vacuum on the tank. Take off the fill cap and see if there is a sign of vacuum on the tank. Or, ... Inspect the fuel tank vent line. You should be able to blow through it.

Thanks guys for the great ideas. I checked the vent and it is fine, I could blow back in the tank and it is clear on the foot guard bar. Since my battery is original I am going to replace with a new one, and I can further check any electrical connections that are further exposed once I get to the battery section. Good time to change the oil and filter while I am in there even though I only have about 800 miles on the last change. I will keep you posted!

Not yet as I have the sled torn down. I just replaced my original battery with a new one. Old battery was 12.0V with my DVM. I am currently changing the oil and filter since I am already in there. I have inspected every connection and wire that I can see and so far nothing charred or unusual looking. My sled is meticulously taken care of and everything in the motor and around it is very clean. Once I get it back together I will take it out and see if the warning light starts flashing again. It takes about 20 minutes of riding if it is going to act up on me. I will send out a response as soon as I get a chance. We need more snow! The big storm missed our area completely.

Fixed! Rode for 2 hours today and had no problems. Prior to this, it would happen within the first 20 minutes or so.... Not sure what the root-cause was but I tore the sled completely down and checked every electrical connection including on and in the sled. I replaced the original battery, changed the oil and filter while in there and doublechecked all connections again during the re-install process. Never forund any chaffed or cut wires. Everything was clean. For some reason I feel it may have been the battery as it turns over so much stronger than ever. maybe the battery was almost end of life messing with the ECU? Not sure but it appears to be fixed! Thanks for all the great support everyone!

If you suspect it was the old battery, you may want to consider checking the charging voltage to ensure it is > 13.5 VDC with the sled running. Wouldn't want to kill a new battery. ;-)

Thanks Len for all your responses!

I will check.....

Thanks,

Randy

If you are low on fuel, and you lift the front when accelerating, or are going up hill, the fuel will not be picked up, and you will run out of gas temperarily.

Thanks but that was not the case as it happened a 1/2, 3/4, and full tank until I stripped the sled checked all connections, fuel tank vent, replaced the battery and oil to resolve. Unfortunately don't know the root-cause but I am leaning towards the battery as there is a significant difference in the strength of the motor turning over. It rips now!
