ZX2 install

reinstaled the zx2 in the proper position. There is just enough room for a 1.75" lug track if you remove the tunnel protectors. Gives about 3/8" of clearance. AdB recomends 1/4"-1/2". I just took it for a small spin (It's -36 celcius) but I like the feel and look of the sled way better. Can't wait to give it a good run.

Here it is with the reinstall. I like it much better, it sits alot lower and is more stable. Still playing with the adjustments but it feels the best in the 1-4 position. I had it in the 2-4 position but I had more ski lift through the corners while on the trottle than I liked. Here are the before and after pictures.

BEAT ON IT..... are you kidding, after all the pissing around I have been doing I am almost afraid to drive it...LOL. I was out today beating on it trying to figure out where to set the pins because it rides different now than before. So far I settled on 1-4. I was testing it out on the same stretch of trail. I tried 2-4 but I get too much ski lift.

Took a 140 mile ride today (-25 c) and the skid preformed very well and handles MUCH better. It's going to be an awsome skid. A couple things though. How tight should the track be. I set it in the shop (17 c) with about 1" sag in the track. Once outside the skid seems to shrink and there seems to be alot of slop in the track from the rear mount point idler wheel to the rear axle wheel. It doesn't rachet but it sounds like the track is slapping on the ice build up in the tunnel a bit when hitting some bumps. I'm sure it's no big deal but it's kind of annoying.
Also, I am about 270ish lbs with my gear on and my shock preloads are set on the #4 position. On some of the hills on the trail while traveling at higher speed when touching down after the hill, it seems to almost bottom out, would a higher preload help solve this problem. Should I crank it up to #7 position for my weight.

In a 70 degree shop I tighten the track with no sag then when it hits snow its perfect. Yours is a little loose.

Yes a tighter preload will help bottoming to a point. I would go up 1-2 clicks at a time.

MAN! I just got back from a 225 mile ride and I just have to say, the more I ride this thing the better I like it. It preforms so well at the higher speed. Doesn't matter what the trail is like this skid just flat out rocks. I upped the preload to on the shocks to the #5 position and the revolver pins are ay 1 and 3. I am extremly happy!!

i dont know why u just wouldnt have bougnt the proper mounting kit i put 1 in my rx warrior was easy

If you notice the skid bottoming out more I had the same thing and the shocks were blown probably from me beating it to death for 3 years HAHA

Stretched mine to a 151 this year and I lost some of the transfer in deep snow compared to a 121 probably because in the manual they are firm you need to the limit strap on the tightest postion when you go 151. Still likes to be pounded though! Awesome skid.

I just cranked up the preload on the shocks a couple clicks and she's all good now. I have been beating it and it is working great now.

Because I had everything to instal it from the previous ownwer exept for the plates and I couldn't see paying $300 for a couple plates with holes in them. Then I found out that they sold the plates individualy and you don't have to buy the kit.

i made a gas tank that fits on the tunnel ext . hooks up to the vent looks like the back of the seat holds 11 litres . works like a tour buddy uses it first
