Yes. Rip 1 has a more aggressive lug, almost saw-tooth looking. It's the original, and famous for better forward bite. Came on all the 90's & early 2000 ZR800 & 900.Looks like the only difference between 1&2 is the lug design?
I was told Cat tested the Rip1 on the 998 ProCross chassis just before it came out in 2017. Test riders fell it was "too aggressive" and would have required better ski carbides to balance out so they decided to invent the Rip2 instead. Rip1 are tough, durable aggressive Camso tracks. I need all the forward bite I can get with my mod-stock turbo Stage 4 tune. Lol.

Been running a 1” ripsaw2 on my viper last few years and really missed 1.25 at first coming out of corners especially. Always spun anyway when drag racing buddies in snow anyway due to trail studding so not much difference there anyway. Ice it’s better. Top speed is better. Studs never break off since shorter unless I do something stupid. Slide and track wear is much better. I will have over 10000 miles on this one. Previously both 1.25’s needed replacing around 8000 mi. Tough call.

How much was it?Just FYI - for anyone that might be interested, TracksUSA now sells a 137" x 15" x 1.25", 2.86 pitch Ripsaw 1, fully clipped, NOT quiet track. Yes, the original Ripsaw!
I just bought one.

I got a good ride in on the new Ripsaw II and got a result I did not expect. I was just reading about it again and the less side bite part. What I have discovered is it now does these great power slides out of corners that are very predictable! Also the forward thrust is greatly inporved. I also installed a steering kit from Barn of parts and the feel of the whole sled has changed and I love it. I think I am now done with mods its just the way I want it now!

The rip 2 is by far a better lug design. I went from a 1" rip1 to 1.25 rip2 on my 129 800 and the grip in loose snow was so superior. It would actually pull instead of spin.Looks like the only difference between 1&2 is the lug design?

Also why are people saying a 1.5 will not handle as well as the 1.0?

Had my best ride in years on Tuesday. We have had no new snow in weeks now and the powder boys have stopped riding. Did not pass any other sleds in a 2 hour ride! Loose fine powder on top of a firm groomed base. Smooth as can be the whole day. On this surface the new track hooks up at about 60mph! Rode as fast as I can for the 2 hours and at the end I was exhausted ! The BOP steering lets me go much faster for longer.
