Picked up a 2016 VK pro2 with only 1400 miles on it two seasons ago. Hardly used it as i bought it at end of season and had little snow last year. This year it starts and dies twice before it will stay running the third time. The idle after the third time is sort of rough but not terrible. There are no starting issues after it warms up. Thinking it could be dirty injectors or possibly something with the fuel filter. Just checking to see if others have had this problem and what the cause was.
Did you drain the tank and then fill up with fresh gas?

You're fuel injected right? Could be the fuel pump dying. Check the pressure. If it still fails to start, check to see if it starts using starting fluid. If it does start and then dies, it's a fuelling issue. If not, it could be an ignition/spark issue.

You have the 3 cyl. 2016. Yamaha changed the electronics and internals of that enging for 2016 to take the power of the turbo it seems. And those of us here with 2016's have the same issue. Hard cold starting but when run down the trail for a while it runs fine the rest of the day including a lunchy break. Will start right up. It seems to be the valve lash. If you look at my postings you'll find the posts I made on multible postings about this. And I saw a video of a guy who did the valve lash and fixed his.
Before learning all of that above I tried sea foam many times and other things . Forget it. Now I have to find a competent mechanic to adjust the valves.
Quote "In 2016, the Yamaha 1049cc three-cylinder engine in the RS Vector and RS Venture snowmobiles received significant internal and electronic upgrades, including a new crankshaft, pistons, and connecting rods, as well as the addition of the Yamaha Chip-Controlled Throttle (YCCT) system with three rider-selectable D-MODE performance settings. The VK Professional II utility model also received this fuel-injected engine, replacing its previous carbureted version. " un quote
