funny how it seems to involve the FX only. I think I'm going to buy it if I can't get one from Yamaha. Doesn't look hard to install, I don't belive the skid frame will need to come out. 180 bucks is cheap insurance to prevent ruining a vacation.
Anyone not had an issue with the rear suspension link? I have about 400 miles on my sled with no issues but I am concerned about it breaking when I'm 50 miles from the truck. I don't jump my machine, but the trails do get rough.
My dealer was also just bought out, and the new dealer is...
Sorry, I should have read you had an FX, according to the service manual there is 7 grease fittings total.
1 where the suspension mounts in the front of the tunnel
4 around the link (link that breaks all the time) in the skid frame
2 in the rear skidframe in front of the axle.
7 total
Well, I got the scoop on this issue today, apparently there is a billet replacement. However Yamaha has only been handing it out in extreme situations. In fact it doesn't even have a part number. According to the information I got Yamaha is not sure if it is the offical fix, reason being that...
Just got off the phone with yamaha customer service, they said there is no such thing as a replacement suspension link made of aluminum. They also said that they are not aware of issues with the rear suspension bracket breaking-what gives?
The reason they say not to start the sled is that H2O a by product of combustion. The H2O is suspended in the oil as a contaminant, if the engine is only run for a short period of time the H20 nevers burns off because the oil never reaches its design operating temperature. This runs the risk...
Your best bet is to buy the yamaha accessory outlet. Its pre-wired to plug into the sleds electrical system. You don't need to do any wiring! The accessory outlet comes with a pigtail and a connector. The sled harness already has the accessory plug. Yamaha makes a plug with the lead for...
Hi, I am looking to get the extended warranty for my Phazer FX, I am getting quoted 850.00 US for 4 years, does this seem high? It seems like everyone else is getting a better deal then this! I also got a quote from the Yamaha website and it seemed about the same!
Thanks,
Mike
Hi all,
Seems a lot of sleds are breaking the rear linkage, I have an FX with about 400 miles no broken linkage yet. I am think of asking the dealer if I can buy the better parts so I don't get stuck somewhere! Has anyone tried this? Has anyone with an FX not broken the rear linkage??
