i have 06 mach zx and 08 mxzx 800 09 etec 600x and nitro se so think i can give you some realy good perspective, out of all my sleds i like the nitro se the best but it has taken $2000 in up grades for me to say that and a lot of time figuring out a set up that works, out of the box the nytro...
have a set of duece 9 but havent tried yet cause i am running stud boys dual 7.5 shapers on pilot skis, this change alone has made the sled, realy struggled to stay with all the 800 xp's i ride with now they are struggling to saty with me, will strap on the dueces soon and let u know though
i have the se but i put the spring on soft, pulled up the front limiter strap 2 holes, switched to skidoo pilot skis with dual stud boy 7.5 inch shaper bars, lowered front shock presure to 40 psi, i do all groomed trail riding and struggled till i got to this set up,sled still never bottoms out...
ride with all 800r 2 08's one 09 they all were pulling me now have excell full system and 900 miles beating them out of the hole and pulling them top end now both 08's are clutched one piped 09 is stock we all have 96 studs, this sled definately gets faster with miles and pipe made big...
may get better responses if you make a seperate thread on the clutch looking for the same answers, like to upgrade my clutch as well have 96 studs and excell exhaust
there is a update on se models to add a brace where the tunnel bends up in the back, there is a thread on here about it, wish they let me know before mine bent, my dealer is going to look into it in the am
ran your set up with pilot skis with dual 8" carbides on each ski, only differance is i have my front limiter pulled two holes and back stock, played with front shock pressure 40/50/75 75 makes it a little less push in soft snow but a lot twitchier, liked 40 the best very perdictable handeling...
thanks for the detailed pics and comments on exhaust and tank install put both on this morning, they definatly made it go easier and quicker excell should copy them and send them out with there system, mine didnt come with the rivits for the clutch going to call in the morning, luv the exhaust...
my se tunnel is bent on right hand side in this area called dealer today and he is going to call yamaha monday he thinks they should replace my tunnel, we will see, realy suprised that yamaha hasnt notified us, i ride hard but havent even been off trail or jumped the sled other then air you get...
rtx se if you like to ride agressive, the xtx will never handel well enough if you realy like to push it, takes some set up work to get the rtx to handel, the long track makes that even harder if at all posible
