They did a lot better. I got something round 1200 out of the next set before I put the low snow extra set of wheels on. Which extended the life of the hyfax out to about 1800 miles on the next set.
xc_phazer137 I'll sent you a PM about the track.
Oh yea I forgot to add that I also fully clipped my stock track the first season after my first set of hyfax wore out in 250 miles. It's still sitting around here if someone wants a fully clipped and studded stock track with only one season on it. Put the freeride track on the sled at the...
Ratcheting seems more like a quick series of clunking under your feet. You'll know it when it happens.
For adjusting the track one other way to double check is to lift the back end up and run the sled letting the track roll around a few times then measure the amount of track that overlaps on...
I'm about the same. Give or take for conditions. Saw a max of 83 mph stock sled with stock track. 85 mph was the max I saw with the freeride installed, but at the same time I added the Super Q exhaust, Ulmer clutch kit, and vent holes in the lid of the airbox. Plus I replaced the stock skis...
Got a freeride on mine and that seems about right. With the stock track I was over revving like you too. I put the freeride on it along with the Ulmer clutch kit and that's about what I was getting last year. With the freeride and the clutch kit I'd pull between 11,200 and then 11,800 which...
My tunnel is closed, and last year I put one on mine, and I didn't have any problems. Worked good. Sounds much better than stock, very little difference in performance. Felt a little more responsive and crisper on the throttle, but you really don't notice a big difference in power. Just...
Well besides the dirt bike, (yes a Yamaha YZ) I picked up a DRZ400 this spring. Mostly rode it around town and to work to save fuel in the truck when diesel was almost $5 per gallon, but I did strip it down (removed all the lights, blinkers, mirrors, and side stand) and took it to the track at...
I would love to go, but I have to hang around home. I have a new baby coming in any time in the next couple weeks, so I have to stay around close to the hospital and the wife. I pry won't get much early season riding in this year. I don't think I'll be able to get away much until January into...
Totally agree! Go for the Freeride. I did and it was a totally different sled. Night and day difference in the snow. The only thing the stock track "worked" at was a hard packed trail.
