I have the PDF instruction manual for the OFT Steering Relocate and although it does explicitly mention the throttle cable, it does not mention the brake cable. But like you pointed out, the riser could be binding the brake cable enough to partially engage the parking brake.
That's the piece. Why I still have this broken piece from my RX-1 is beyond me but this should provide you with an idea as to where to place that strip of trim:
My guess is that person you purchased it from did not remove the clip that would have been attached to the tunnel that's used to secure the tunnel bags. My 08 Apex has a tunnel bag but does not use the same snap buckle as yours but this gives you an idea as to what I'm referring
Well, look what I found. Not sure if this is what Redbeard is referring to but just ran with his rememberance of it being an older 1300cc Yamaha motorcycle. Stuck with the same year (2003) and only 1300cc was the Venture and low and behold...
I really wasn't thinking about selling them; at least not yet. I just wanted to point out what I found with the rubber boots on them. I still have to separate my good rack of carbs and not sure what I will find with the remaining T's other than the ones I know need replaced.
It would appear that 8GL-81890-01-00 superceded 8GL-81890-00-00 and that is what the '-01' is indicating; it's the next revision of the previous part number of 8GL-81890-00-00. More than likely, that is why Parts Nation only shows results for the 01 (ie. it's the only current part number)...
Not sure what you used for looking up replacement parts but when I looked up part# 8GL-81890-01-00, comes back as the starter for just the 2023 Sidewinder whereas part# 8GL-81890-00-00 comes back as the starter for a plethora of Yamaha snowmobiles like the Nytro, Venture, Vector, and older...
Maybe I've been fortunate all these years as I do have a replacement cable after reading of others having had issues with theirs. I just wished it was the cable instead of the W arm as it would have been much cheaper to replace.
I'm not so sure #51 is the T you are looking for as that appears to be the pipe circled in red. I have a rack of carbs I separated for the T's circled in blue. What I found to be the case with T you are looking for is that the rubber sleeves (circled in black) can be bad:
What about the possibility of this being related to one of your grounding blocks starting to corrode? Have you gone thru and followed your harness to inspect all of them?
Not directed at you @steiner, but I always have to chuckle when I hear others complain of their EC Shock cable breaking when I have over 20,000 miles on the original one in my 08 LTX GT. I've always followed that tech bulletin that Yamaha released outlining where to zip-tie the cable. I added...
Although the turbo one would be fun to ride, at least the one you bought has the good GYTR shocks. ;)!
I like the white seat but knowing how dirty and how much I have to clean the red on the two Apex seats, I can see keeping it clean will be a challenge; just would hate to dye over the...
When it comes to electrical components like the stator I replaced, I tend to agree with Teamblue4 and stick with OEM. However, when the starter failed on my 08 Apex, I opted to go with one of @hibshman25 of Barn of Part aftermarket starters. The ONLY reason I opted to go with an aftermarket...
We were able to stay and ride on Lake Gogebic last year between Christmas and New Years and was hoping to do the same this year but that doesn't appear to be the case this year. Here's to hoping conditions improve!
