Research that I did before stretching my 06 Nytro to 136" indicated that this mod is the starting point towards making the Pro-Active a better set-up. After almost 1000 miles in it's new form, I find that it does indeed perform better, at least as far as bridging bumps goes. Other than having to...
I used the Tracks USA rail extensions with the Muffinworks tunnel extension to stretch my 06 Nytro. Both are top quality products, and I whole-heartedly recommend them.
Watch the o-ring on the old filter: it usually sticks to the block, and you don't want that on there when installing the new filter.
It's a straight forward oil change, and as guyzoun posted, the procedure is in the owner's manual.
Best of luck.
As far as I know, Yamaha (or KYB, etc.) won't release details such as this (unlike FOX, who will). There is a set of posts by ReX that have some of this information, except the details are for the shocks in the 07 Apex RTX skid. He took the time to figure out the piston depths etc., so maybe he...
There is a drain for the crankcase. It's an allen head bolt, and if you look closely, you can see the copper washer at the base. Also, oil capacity is 3.0L with a filter change; 2.8L without a filter change. Overall capacity is 3.7L.
Nice write-up! This sounds like exactly what I need for my 06 Nytro, so I may PM you for more detail on the "secret stuff", if that's OK. Thanks again.
I know that some guys out there have changed the silver section on their seats to black using a type of vinyl dye. Would it be possible for someone to list the EXACT product that they used, and if they were happy with the results? Thanks in advance for any replies.
If you go to www.portyamaha.com and click on the Yamaha Fiche icon, you will find that a price list accompanies the parts microfiche. The parts finder on this site doesn't provide any pricing.
The ones at the "Snow Show" in Winnipeg had them, and Cat and others have used them for years, so patents shouldn't be an issue. I hope they use them on the production sled....very simple and effective.
It would be awesome if it was, but the prevailing wisdom seems to be that Robbie has the Doo snocross skid. I hope this is not the case, but to be honest, I don't think any of the manufacturers offer their ACTUAL snocross skid to the masses. I think even the Doo XPS is "watered down". If anyone...
Anybody catch the contradiction regarding the rear skid for the 08 Apex RTX? The text refers to the ProActive CK, and the gallery pics of the full sled show the CK as well. There is, however, a stand-alone pic of the new Pro dual shock skid in the same gallery. I'm thinking that the 08 still has...
You can head west through Starbuck and Elm Creek, so you don't have to go as far south as Morris. Once you get to St. Claude, you can go further south into the Pembina Valley or head north then west towards Brandon. I haven't been that far west, and it looks a little confusing on the Snoman map...
Are you checking the pressure with the skis on or off the ground? If the skis are on the ground, your reading will be about 15 psi higher than the actual pressure. Fox recommends taking all pressure readings with the front end off the ground. Just a tip to save you some headaches. By the way, I...
