I have a 2014 Viper. I changed the oil in the chain case. When I removed the actuator I noticed the holes where the bolt go through were starting to split. The actuator seems to be made of a hard plastic, it appears that the bolts were tightened to much the last time it was done. Has anyone...
2014 ltx SE. 9000 km. gas and go. Best sled and most fun I have owed. I just bought a 2016 Polaris Axys SB. 800. I replaced my 2011 polaris Turbo 750. I would have bought a factory turbo yamaha but that didn't happen. 2018 I await.
What if AC is going to factory turbo the 1049 and release it in March? How do you think that would make you feel if you were in his position? Just a thought..........
I have almost 9000 km on my 2014 ltx SE. No problems at all to date. Gas and go. Always starts even at -38c. I do change the chain case oil and inspect regularly. I clean the clutches every 1500 km. This sled is by far the most fun and comfortable to ride compared to my previous sleds. I will...
2016 Viper with factory turbo and good shock package would be my 1st choice. Ski-doo is offering 4 yr bumper to bumper warranty for spring orders, that is very tempting.
My guess is you won't see a new Flag Ship sled from Yamaha until 2018, if I am not mistaken that is their 50th anniversary. I am willing to bet you will see a turbo as a factory install on the Viper this year.
2014 LTX SE. Closing in on 6000 miles and not a problem. Keeps getting better. It's getting so good that I am calling in sick tomorrow to put on another 300 miles tomorrow. It has never not started even at -38c.
Just thought I would post. I just got back from a 7 day snowmobile trip doing 335km or 208 miles on average each day. I ride a 2014 Viper LTX Se. Our total distance was 2350km or 1460 miles. We rode in -34C or -29F. The Viper ran perfect. It started every morning with ease. The handling...
There seems to be a ton of negative comments about the Viper. I am not brand loyal as I have owned them all. Just wanted to report on my 2014 Viper Ltx. I now have about 4000 miles on my sled. This year I added an Ulmers intake kit, clutch kit and programmer. I ride with guys with Axys, 800...

I did the same thing with my battery tender cord. Does anyone know if you could boost through that cord? Would the cord be heavy enough not to melt? Never have had to boost any of my yamaha's but always like to be prepared!
I had a 2010 Nytro then a 2011 Apex and now the Viper. The Viper is hands down the best trail sled I have ever owned. I miss the apex sound and power but the handling and corner to corner performance of the viper is kick a$$. Hit the lake though and I really miss the apex.
I had a blue windshield with graphics on my Nytro. All I did was sanded the inside of the windshield with coarse grit sandpaper then with a fine git sandpaper until it was all gone. The surface looked really scratchy when I was finished and I thought it would never turn out. I spray painted...
Same thing happening here! On occasion I am hitting the rev limiter 9100 - 9150 rpm then drops to 8700rpm. Once I hit 80 MPH is seems to drop to 8350 rpm. Something just doesn't seem right.
I agree, my Viper is a bit slower then my Nytro. The Viper on hard packed has hit 102 but with a couple of inches of fresh snow it works hard to hit 85. I love this everything about this viper except top end. I run with 800 etec's and Turbo cats. We did a Saturday ride of Lake skipping. 100...
