    05 Vector jackshaft bearing replacement

I've got about 3500 miles on the sled and have heard that its a good idea to replace the jackshaft bearing(s) at this mileage. Never done one before. I remember reading some good stuff on this site last year but can't remember the details. Dealer or do it myself??? Any words of wisdom greatly...

    Tunnel Wrinkling

You didn't happen to trailer your machine with the back tied down and hit any major dips or bumps???? I've seen 3 guys, one with a Vector and 2 Doos who told me this is what causedt their issues...

Go to the "Engine and Clutching" section of this site and look under "Sounds like a 29 Ford" thread. In here you will see a response from Blu with a forward to another thread. I believe there is pictures and a forward to another thread again. It has some good information

The O ring fix worked; Oak and Undecided; I think that this is a case of neither being right or wrong; just different opinions. I ask the same question on this forum under the "Clutching" thread; got some good info and a link to an earlier thread that was pretty informative and worth reading...

    Vector Clutch still embarrassing noisy

Let me know what you find out about the Poo clutch; you figue that its a better clutch?? I'm not disputing that I just don't know; the O rings were a pretty cheap fix but I can't vouch for longevity. Anyway really appreciate any info you find out about the P85. Thanx

    TORS problem

Gypsy; I had to move my 05 Vector to the shop for greasing today; it is -41 degrees here is lovely Lac du Bonnet, Manitoba. Sled turned over a little sluggish but started great. Stalled once and then fired right up and stayed running. All I know is that it is real important to use gas...

    Vector Clutch still embarrassing noisy

Good question; I would expect that you have to remove the clutch; don't see how to do it with the clutch totally assembled. You need a special tool I think. Can someone enlighten us on this??? I have some rubber O rings and hopefully this will last for a while. I understand that the free play...

    Sounds like a 1929 Ford

The guys on the RS thread say that putting washers on the both ends of the bolt that holds the pins works; and that the washers could be made of rubber, nylon or even leather. Any body see any potential problems in doing this; another guy said that his dealer said that slack was required.

    Vector Clutch still embarrassing noisy

It is just before engagement; I think I made about the same noise just before my engagement; anyway... I found some nyla washers as well as some ruber ones that would be the right size I think. Any pros or cons to either....I'm wondering how long they will last or which will last longer. Anybody...

    Sounds like a 1929 Ford

The dealer (reputable over the years)did the work about a month ago; was a little quieter; told me that's the way the cutches sound. I've heard others some quieter, some about the same....mostly looking for a "quiet" solution. Appreciate your input so far and continued

    Sounds like a 1929 Ford

Performance seems OK; yup just the ratttle at idle and maybe 200 -300 RPM past idle when accelerating; but a BAD rattle

    Vector Clutch still embarrassing noisy

The washers; either nylon, rubber or leather sounds like a plan; I sure could use a diagram or a picture too; I know this is a hassle but would sure appreciate if someone could go to the trouble. Thanks for the info guys. Man that's an annoying sound....you don't know if somethings wrong or...

    Vector Clutch still embarrassing noisy

I guess along with not idling too long I should buy a good set of earplugs; Idle RPM's OK; what's the deal on the Poo clutch??? and What the heck causes the rattling anyway???

05 Vector; had the clutch upgrade at the dealer plus some other work because I didn't blow out the secondary with compressed air last season???; a little better for awhile but now sounds like an old Model T. Any suggestions?? Throw away the stock set up?? This is getting really annoying...

    Sounds like a 1929 Ford

I've got an 05 Vector that has had the clutch upgrade but still sounds like a 29 Ford rolling along. I had some additional work done on the secondary which the dealer says was necessary because I didn't blow out the secondary once a season with compressed air. Anyway any advice???Should I just...

    Sta-bil Fuel stabilzer

Yamaha and Honda both make a fuel stabilizer that also contains a conditioner. I think that the conditioner is as important as the stabilizer; have used both (whatever is available at the time) in my boat engines, alot of equipment with small engines and my sleds; excellent products; no problems...
