The O ring fix worked; Oak and Undecided; I think that this is a case of neither being right or wrong; just different opinions. I ask the same question on this forum under the "Clutching" thread; got some good info and a link to an earlier thread that was pretty informative and worth reading; check it out because the way I see it the more information you get the more of an informed decision you can make. That's my 10 cent phylsophy for now anyway

Can you post pics and a "how to" list? I'd really like to try this 1st.

Go to the "Engine and Clutching" section of this site and look under "Sounds like a 29 Ford" thread. In here you will see a response from Blu with a forward to another thread. I believe there is pictures and a forward to another thread again. It has some good information

Well I tried the o rings on the bolts for the rollers this weekend and I still had the clutch rattle. Just have to suck it up and accept it I guess.

Is there any slack or is it tight? O Rings thick enough?? It worked well for me.

There was no slack ... everything was tight and it still rattled.

I agree. That engine has such a nice sound and then the clutch rattle drowns it out.
I agree also... as a matter of fact I would love to buy a new 3 cyl Yamaha (maybe in the FX chassis) but until the cluch noise issue is resolved in a permanent matter (either by Yamaha an aftermarket suplier or myself) I'm afraid my 05 Rage may be my first and last Yamaha.

Read woodtics thread about putting a P85 on it. SOmething I'm looking into right now. Pretty cheap fix and a better clutch too.
