My 07 Vector GT has a slight hesitation too. It's almost goes away completely when it's really warmed up, I mean like after it's been running for 10 minutes or so. You buy those jets at a dealer?
Make sure you get something with his signature, showing that he bought the sled from you and the date sold, price, etc. I know cars are different, but I sold one to a "friend" who never bothered to register it. After getting 2 bench warrants in the mail for parking tickets on my former car (if I...
I had the exact opposite reaction from my wife and daughter (and for that matter my sons too) when I bought my vector. We have a couple of older 2 stroke cats and when we go riding together everybody, including the girls want to drive the vector. They like the way it sounds and handles (they...
I have a 2007 RS Vector GT that I bought last fall and the warmers work great. I'm sure I don't have Yamaheaters. I never used them when it was colder than 0 degrees Fahrenheit. I heard that's when they let you down (when you need them the most). It that true?
Here's a good track swap procedure with pictures of a Nytro, but it's very similar to a vector (I just got done doing a track swap on mine).

The new one I bought from my Yamaha dealer and is a Yamaha part #93306-20589-00. I already installed it and put the speedo cover on so I don't know what type of seal it has. The one I took off looks identical. It has a rubber seal. I'm fairly sure it's the original. The sled has 5500 miles on...
Stuck my head underneath, shined a light up there, and even with my failing close up vision I could just make out the star pattern if I squinted. I still think it's kinda crazy that Yamaha mixes hex and torx set screws on the same shaft but the job is done. Thanks to all who replied. I'm glad I...
I just have some torx ends for a nut driver. I don't think that would work very good for this application as it's really tight in there. I should get a nice set of torx anyway.
Dog. Yeah, the collar next to the cog that I mentioned fits the 3mm. The 2 in the the bearing look close to the same size but they're obviously not. I noticed the new bearing didn't come with new set screws. Maybe the previous owner went to the hardware store and bought sae screws like you said...
On a related subject. I'm putting on a new track. I have everything disassembled but I need to remove the speedo side drive shaft bearing. The problem is the 2 set screws. My 3mm t-handle seems too big and my 2.5 mm too small. This is on both set screws. I bought this sled used so I don't know...
I haven't calculated mpg yet, but it obviously very good. My buddy runs a SXR500 and when we both fill, I use about 2/3rds of what he does. He's calculated his mileage at around 11.5 mpg, so I think 17 or so mpgs for mine.
Roz. Thanks for the reply. I bought this sled used. I don't have any records of what was done or not. Is this going to be a problem? If this is some known manufacturing bug what difference would it make if I cleaned the carbs myself? I'm a bit older and have done most work on my sleds, cycles...
Hi guys. This is my 1st post. I bought a used 2007 Vector GT last fall with 4500 miles. Overall I like the sled (I've owned all 4 brands, most recently Cats). I had virtually no experience with Yamaha 4 strokes, particularly the triples. I admired them from what I read in magazines and so forth...
