    Exhaust Donuts bad?

Yep, figured that was the problem, already ordered set of four and also muffler gasket (2) that go onto the single exhaust, don't know if I need them but just want to be sure once everything is apart. Picked up the donuts for $11.42 apiece @ Babbits online, best deals I have found for OEM parts.

    Exhaust Donuts bad?

Put sled away for year and noticed a significant rattle noise coming from under tank/seat. Went under tunnel grabbed exhaust and pulled tight and noise seemed to fade, is this what I think it is, bad donuts or cracked header? Sled just turned 4k this year, other reports on here seem to say at...

    Shockwave Helix

Just read a report on SHockwave adjustable helix, sounds like it is what every guy needs to adjust on the fly for different snow conditions, was wondering if anyone has tried one on their Apex??

    lets see.. BEST CLUTCH KIT?

I can say the Pioneer didn't turn any heads at our local drags last year! A little better than stock but had to tweak myself with primary spring and add weight on tip, better now. But for out of box performance was not impressed. Don't forget, all the clutch work is in vain if you can't get the...

    Darting with Powderhounds?

That's the first thing that came to mind, the front A-arm bushings, will check and replace as needed. Only have 3600 miles on sled but from what I have heard on here the stock bushings are junk. Seemend to handle alot better when the shlis were new 2 years ago. Have not checked the toe on front...

    Fixpowersports A Scam?

I tried their hyfax wheel kits and their wheels and bearings blew apart after 1000 miles, I returned the product with letter about getting new wheels and bearings and after 9 months no answer! Keep your hard earned money and spend it with someone who knows what customer service is all about!!

    Darting with Powderhounds?

Put on 400 miles in Bayfield Co. WI last week and trails were perfect except for the fact my 2007 Attak with Slydog powderhounds were all over the trail! Buddy has bone stock 06 Apex and his did not dart around as much, even my buddies behind me said I was fighting to keep er straight. My spring...

    "Game Changer!"

That's why I have been getting into restoring vintage sleds, brings back memories when they didn't cost that much and didn't have alot of moving parts, plus you have the satisfaction of doing something from the ground up. Still love to ride my 07 Attak, but cruisin' on the ol'74' cat is...

    PIONNER CLUTCH KIT

I bought the same kit last year and was over revin' so I installed the next heavier pin (outside) and also put in the stock primary spring, mucho better now. All in all, not that happy with his kit, (one size fits all) type, also sent kit into Ullmer to have him check it out before this season...

    CLUTCH KITS

This is my 2nd PP kit and like the first was not impressed, had to do my own tweaking and buy other spring to get this where I wanted. Problem with most is that one size does not fit all riders or engines!!

    Apex floatation skip plate install

Put mine in last month, no problems other than the holes in bad spots, so I used the existing riv-nut holes from my ultra plate and drilled new ones in proper locations. As far as restricing travel I see your point, but most of my riding is trails and trail busting so no hard jumping here, we...

    Secondary Clutch drive shaft

Thanks for the info. one less thing to tear apart! Found out the Apex Mtn. float plate is not cut to exact dimensions for attachment, if anyone puts one on like I did, check your riv-nut locations!! Had to modify a few on mine, because they were going to be into the plastic oil pan plate...

    Secondary Clutch drive shaft

Chaincase fluid was a tad low but still clean, tightened tensioner half turn by hand and checked again, still have rotational slack of about 2"? So I am still guessing as to what's up. Anyone else check their's to see if this is in the norm. :o|

    Secondary Clutch drive shaft

Yes it was the rotation, ok maybe it was 2"-3" but still going to check chain tension tomorrow. CHecked and tightened last year, but can it become that slack in 2000 miles?

    Secondary Clutch drive shaft

Cleaning clutches for season opener and noticed about 3" of free play while rotating the secondary, checked bearings and shaft all good, but just want to know if the free play is normal or should I dive into the chaincase to see any issues there? It just seems to be more than I've had on other...

    Apex Mtn. Float plate install

Just picked one up after the smaller Yamaha one fell off in the rear. This one looks better and covers the entire pan and partially the a-arms. Just looking for some inside tips on install. Of course the directions say have dealer install to avoid damage, but if you saw my dealers mechanic you...

Who has had their 07 RTX shocks revalved by Pioneer?

Had my rear mono done 2 yrs ago with revalve and stiffer spring, great job on the shock (no issues) just can't speak to highly on the clutch kit, one size does not fit all!! Had to redo on set up with Ulmers help.

    Optional Idler wheels for Attak

Ended up ordering Yami spoked style wheels (all 6) instead of Slydog, like the slydog but found Yami's to be less than half of the price of the Slydogs. Found the Yami wheels for $18.36 apiece @ Babbit's online, ordered there before for ATV parts and thet are always cheaper than local dealer!
