i've bought a couple of the Oregon Scientific helmet cams. they're worth the money if you're shooting in the middle of the day and it's warm out. it's seems once the sun starts to lower to the horizon, anytime you face that direction, the picture totally washes out..... also, when using in cold...
thanks for the response, guys. that's what i was looking for..... skyhi - yes, i did reinstall hand warmers. i bought a set from dennis kirk and then soldered it into the old wiring. takes a bit longer to heat the heavier grips, but works perfect otherwise.
Quick question. Took my Phazer in for recalls and my mechanic told me I will burn my engine down if I don't have the fuel remapped because I'm running after-market exhaust. Is this true? I thought they run rich to begin with. I spoke with Excell and they said it will not hurt it, but just wanted...
Thanks, skyhi. Not sure how the floats are yet. The day before our first big snow I busted my clavicle on a quad. Talk about torture.... Hopefully they'll work well, though.
okay, i know this is probably mentioned somewhere else in the forum, but since everyone keeps asking the same questions here..... i just installed an excell exhaust on my sled. can i still bring it in for the recall work?
Running 96 with 6" carbides. Works perfect and hooks up great. Anymore would be kinda pointless, IMO. Another advantage is they minimize slip on ice when the engine brakes. This was my main reason for studding. Got a little scary going around icy corners when letting off the gas.
Hope it helps.
When you say "completely" do you mean the front and rear, or just the rear? I closed the rear hole off with the kit from Excell and ran it with an Excell pipe and it still has not got close to melting plastics. Granted I haven't ran it all day long, I did run it stationary in an 80 degree shop...
can't help you on the air box, but can I ask how easy the power commander was to setup? I read they don't have maps yet for different setups, was it hard to tune?
Thx
NB-Nytro - Yes, it's only like 8 bucks. Most stores stock them. They do make brand/model specific deflectors though, so double check when purchasing.
Hope it helps,
T
I do. It's so much nicer on bright sunny days when you're riding into the sun. The visor helps cut down on the glare from spray-up on your lens. And, your goggles seem to never fog up. So no more riding with the face shield half cracked trying to regulate it.....
I sport a HJC "natedogg3" with...
Ooh, I should probably mention that I don't run a windshield, so I'm not sure if relocating lower on the riser block would interfere with the windshield. Something to consider...
Looks like Zook has a fix for that though.

Haven't had troubles yet with it bending. But could have foreseen it happening, so I first flipped my stock pod bracket and gave it a little bend up and it worked perfect. Saved $30 bucks and you don't see it. If you do order it though, the people at www.sledsolutions.com are really good to work...
Not sure if I could help you there, but would love to see some pics of the plane. Thing must be huge...... Okay, after re-reading it, I now understand that you're building a real airplane. I was thinking a R/C plane at first. My mistake.
osceolacabin - thanks. i'm not sure what type of paint is being used. i think ppg. they do offer a black set of plastics made for the 08's that you can order for around $200. I think port yamaha has a post about it. probably would be easier, cheaper and quicker to go that route....
as far as...
added an Excell Exhaust pipe and Excell's new Phazer hole patch today. here's a quick vid of it on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yzgMjFW6O4
this exhaust system cut so much weight and is not noticeably louder unless getting on the gas. was pretty easy to install, too.... the hole...
Hey Chris, Thanks for taking those measurements. That was a huge help. Rather than paying $700 at my dealer, I was able to buy a new set of the same size off ebay for way less. I appreciate you taking the time.
Great looking sled!
Excell Motorsports has a nice looking panel for the Phazers now. It's around $60. I just ordered one up. Call Aaron there if interested, he's a good guy to work with.
