Phazer updates/recall

There are two bulletins for '07 Phazers but only one is a recall. It's for the steering idler arm nuts, collars and clevis pins.
Parts replaced:
2 - Collars
2 - Nuts
5 - Clevis pins (new parts are cotter pins - two different part numbers)

The other is a "Quality Assurance" Technical Bulletin and it's covered by warranty.
Parts installed:
3 - Metal braces for the black plastic cover over the idler arms to keep snow from squeezing in and pushing past the cover.
2 - Rubber blocks mounted on the front corners of the airbox to seal against snow.
2 - Rivets with backing washers. They replace the original rivets holding two clips inside the airbox. The original rivets can break and get sucked in to the engine.
PLUS retorque the front left motor mount to a higher torque. Some were coming loose.

Recall or not, it's all covered by warranty. Save some time and have everything done at once.

okay, i know this is probably mentioned somewhere else in the forum, but since everyone keeps asking the same questions here..... i just installed an excell exhaust on my sled. can i still bring it in for the recall work?

Tonymanto-- You sure can, I have different exhaust on mine and the tunnel is closed off. They even complemented on how it looks. You souldn't have any problems.

When I looked at the instructions that came with the "kits" at my dealer that is exactly what it said.

Zook, what dealer did you go to in NH? Just curious. I bought a fan for a phazer, because Yamaha would not give me one, claiming there was no problem. They told me the dealer could do it, but that the dealer would not be repaid for the parts. It would be the good will of the dealer. That was a call I had with Yamaha last winter.

Vmax-- I went to a dealer in Concord, Freedom Cycle. They called me lastnight and tolt me that my idler wheels were in. I will pick them up tonite. Lots of luck. BTW what did the fan cost you.
Bruce--

Man you guys gotta pony up and lay into your dealers. There is a number of issues that should be tended to by them. Some of them are safety issue others are not. :o|
I am in south western Canada and my dealer although needing some poking and proding has been great. He has done all 3 recalls. He is replacing the rear bracket for free, and has offered to sell me the side deflectors, and a bunch of other parts for cost. My Mtn Lite came with a fan. If you were too cheap to pay for a model that came with a fan to start with then you should have to pay for it in the end. That is not worthy of warranty or recall.
The dealer here respects that customer service has to go beyond the big transaction (purchase of new sled) :ORC
These dealers can give you this stuff and should if you have to pay a little thats fine but still should be done. You got to force the conversation thou and be persistant. Good luck :yam:
