Mail your ECU to Turbo Dynamics and they will tune it for the cost of tune.
Just buy Max 20, don't bother with the other tunes. When they ship the ECU back, have them throw in a big pump and a SQ muffler. A lot of room for growth and improvement with this package. You won't be in the back...
I find clutching will vary greatly from one tuner to another. A good clutch setup in a Hurricane sled will not work well in a TD sled. I can attest, as I've had both.
My Hurricane winder made big power out of the gate, needed a lot of heel weight and LOVED big initial helix angle coming out...
They ran the same speed, but check your ET times. The big tunes get there faster and have less time to build speed. The fastest guy in a drag race to 1000ft, will not always post highest speed.
Holy cow.....that is friggin FAST!!
YOU are the MAN!!!
Kudos and congrats.....that sled is an absolute Rocket!!! Thanks to you, I won't sleep the rest of the night.....I'm jealous!!! Lol
I can comment on this, as my wife and I would log 5-6000 miles a season on Apexes. We owned the following apex models:
2006 Apex RTX
2007 Apex GT
2007 Apex MTX
2008 Apex LTXGTs
2008 Apex MTX
2009 Apex LTXGT
2009 Apex LTX
2011 Apex
2012 Apex XTX
2016 Apex XTX
My worst were the 2012 and 2016...
TF....I think the spec may be subjective. Everytime I adjust the chain, I do it with the cover off, so I can visually inspect the chain tension by eye.
In doing so, I'm always 1 turn out from finger tight. This crushes my ego and insults me to my core, as I guess it means I have weak...
Sounds like a bad fuel pump and/or possibly plugged/dirty fuel pickup socks/filters in the tank. For the 50-60 bucks, I'd change the pump and clean the socks in the process, then rule it out.
May as well buy the big pump while at it, then your ready for more power.
Imo....MS20 runs richer and is LESS susceptible to knock than MS17 or MS19. Sustained long pulls above 10 degrees are no problem at 95 octane with stock exhaust manifold and a big pump. I wouldn't run MAX 19 unless it was 25 degrees or warmer, or unless you ran higher octane.
Where you need a...
Two bar map sensor only reads up to 16.9 lbs of boost. Three bar reads up to 29 lbs of boost, and 4 bar above 29.
Max 17 makes 17lbs of boost so you are fine with 2bar sensor at 16.9. If you upgrade to MS17 or MS20, you will need 3 bar as these tunes boost over 17#.
Hope this helps.
