My RTX LE 50th BUILD THREAD-ROCKERDAN

Been so bored here at cottage still self isolating....I have been playing around with iMovie. I apologize there are no Winders in the video as most of you know I rode a 850 doo this season. There is my Yamaha Viper cover though! LOL. Still something for sledheads to watch since we are all so...

STV: 2021 Yamaha Sidewinder SRX is here for a First Burn!

Did I mention it's BLUE?? Gotta love Steenbakkers!!

    2021 Sidewinders

I get the feeling Yamaha has some agreements likely in place with Cat in regards to the Tcat which is now the only 4s sled in common using the 998t engine. I believe they likely wanted Cat to change the track to 1.25(leaves SRX as top speed king), and possibly wanting them to keep the colors...

My RTX LE 50th BUILD THREAD-ROCKERDAN

Great! I also still look here often myself. It was a nice change actually riding the 850 this season, i did not even open my tool box all winter, just gas and go. It was a big change from the massive wrenching i did on the Winder. I miss the big power, but don't miss the issues. I really...

    new drive shaft axle?

Sad Cat and Yam will not fix this, and with new model yr coming too. How have the guys who added the BOP wedge been making out? Is the Wedge a true longterm fix that has no issues? Dan

    2021 Sidewinders

Some in depth info from Yamaha.... Addresses the Cat relationship and why they are using Cat's 2s engine(Approx 1:59). Dan

    2021 Sidewinders

Just be sure to price them both out...Cat will add freight typically and YAM will discount more and give more warranty, in the end the pricing is close. However, IMO the Cat 998 works much better with the 24/50 gears in conjunction with TEAM clutches. If Cat/YAM were to fix the driveshaft known...

    2021 Sidewinders

I doubt they did anything to address the reliability issues pretty much every Procross has. Sad really. New Single keel ski finally, and the tuner is finally dead and buried. That is the big news, since the 2stroke YAMs look to me to be ALL CAT. Even using TEAM clutches as the Cats do. Seems...

Ultimax is inconsistent on team clutches

Great to hear Mike! I always wondered why you were all over the place last season with things while I was so happy with things. All because of which belt! Im setting my 850 up today now that I have 485 miles on here this weekend, from stock belt to XS. Will likely need to lighten pins...

Interesting clutch stuff, Viper clutches & floating secondary

Mike, i ran STMs for about 6o miles if i recall only.....and it wiped out my stock rollers that fast at 270hp! Went to the TP rollers with Daltons and look perfect for over 4k miles. Dan

    Driveshaft toast bearing seems OK......

exactly what I was thinking! They also updated brake lever, switch-gear, and a few other things since 2017 models that we did not even need! At least the rollover valve is an easy fix as most of us don't want the oil going back into intake! Dan

Here ya go Mike...keep up the good work in this thread guys.

    Dalton 35 vs stock 35

Yes, Dale typically uses the same measuring techniques as the respective manufacturer does, seems like common sense but some helix makers do not. Dan

    Driveshaft toast bearing seems OK......

Wow, bigtime wear.....seems every one of these procross will do this. Shameful Cat does not fix this issue, they are warranty them anyway It would make more sense to come out and admit issue, fix it so they can actually sell new model sleds as everyone will get sick of fixing. Dan

Interesting clutch stuff, Viper clutches & floating secondary

One thing we need to always remember, the Winder if left stock for most works as it should. I would say alignment could be better but stock most do ok. Its the 270+ tunes where all the shortcomings are revealed. Dan

Interesting clutch stuff, Viper clutches & floating secondary

Even if true, I still like the results Mike is seeing in BELT TEMP and sheave temps....and lighter springs with less slippage means alot.

Interesting clutch stuff, Viper clutches & floating secondary

Just a thought, I know one member here mentioned he switched his Winder to 15mm rollers, and has had success without issue ever since. Not sure who it was, but could just having a larger OD roller be the fix, at least for roller life? Dan

Interesting clutch stuff, Viper clutches & floating secondary

I would bet the 8JP would live with this setup alot longer, and for that matter why not the 8DN? I know its a tad long though. What I do love about the XS belts are how clean they run compared to all other belts i've run. Dan

    winder on it side

I prefer to use my sled lift for suspension work on 4s.... However, you can use a sled stand on its side, just dont go too far IMO. If you have the stock ROV in place you should be able to go further, but most of us have the ROV delete with hose mod, in this case you can judge how far over to...

    draining battery

Easy fix.....same as my GPS draws lightly over time. Install a battery tender, you wont ever need a new battery. If sled is setting for more then a week or so, just plug it in. Never a worry then. The cost is minimal and I move them from one sled to the next, also have tenders on all my other...
