A few years ago I was pricing out 4130 tube and 5/8" was priced much lower than sizes smaller and larger. As far as the front suspension angles go I would want the front lower a arm mount higher than the rear mounting point so far as if the ski hooked on a railroad track and stopped the ski...
If you remove the rear suspension and block the inside of the tunnel with wooden blocks and wedges and apply pressure to the tunnel in the direction it needs to move I bet you could tap it straight with a wooden block and hammer.
It will display code 30 if it's shutting down due to low oil pressure but look into the oil tank with a light to observe oil circulation anyway. Make sure the oil suction screen in the tank is clear and oil suction hose isn't pinched, I have seen this restrict oil delivery too.
Did you...
No. While I haven't tried a sidewinder and I know everyone who has really likes the power I have tried a viper and since doing so every sled with a raised seat looks like riding one of these to me. Not that there's anything wrong with doing whatever it takes to not crack a hip but until then...
I've had a handlebar mounted push button start switch on my apex for close to a decade which works very well. I don't understand why you would use a timed relay. Wouldn't this energize the starter for a fixed length of time no matter what is required and even stall and overheat the starter if...
This patent for the use of a four cylinder desaxe engine in a straddled vehicle is interesting. http://www.freshpatents.com/-dt20170928ptan20170276213.php
The mountain Apex has the front mount lowered and farther back than the monoshock mount.
I am thinking of mounting a mountain rx-1 suspension and 151" track into a mountain Apex.
The shaft is turned a couple thousands smaller between the bearing mounting area and the chaincase, however the bearing mounting surface is 3" long. This might work.
The heavy driveshaft started in the 2010 model year.
The driveshaft failures start at the setscrew on the drive sprocket. That...
I have wanted to do this for a very long time, when Yamaha quit building sleds for me in the 98 model year the Redline chassis looked like the only acceptable replacement. However Polaris front suspension is still designed from automotive textbooks and not even close to meeting snowmobile...
Exactly. And I have yet to drive a vehicle with sufficient engine braking force, including trucks with compression release brakes and 1960's big block cars with the dashpots unhooked.
It's an emission control which limits engine vacuum on deceleration by increasing airflow through the idle air control valve and it interferes with normal engine braking. Some don't mind it, I do.
Look up throttle hang relating to vehicles. There are thousands of complaints about it.
