So many have posted how they love the Apex. I wonder what Yamaha thinks about this. Would love to be a fly on the wall at corporate headquarters.

Thats exactly the problem.....you might but there are more that wont then there is that will . Thats why yamaha is on the lowest level of popularity and the lowest in sales. As the other manufacturers are getting lighter, yamaha is sitting back watching their sales plummet. Other brand buyers care more about weight then even the reliability of their 2 srtoke motors......look at all the trouble Polaris had with their 800s a while back.....they were blowing up like crazy.....enough that you'd think that would be enough of a deterrent to go to yamaha.....but nope. weight trumps reliability . this is not my opinion.....its the facts. Its too bad Yamaha have their heads so far up their collective a**es that they cant see the solution when its thrown in their face.. Im on your team, i love my 2 apexes.....but sadly that doesn't matter, People want light sleds first....then after, reliability.I will take there reliability anytime over weight & I am sure many others will also.

Said it before.....you dont care.....but too many do care and its obviously effecting their sales. My opinion is not redicoulouse. ....its an observation that offends people.....but just because you dont agree doesnt mean its wrong. Ask around you will get the idea. This is just a ridiculous statement. Yamaha should build a lightweight unreliable sled to be competitve in the market. Just give me a sled that’s reliable with excellent quality. I don’t care what the weight is.

I never said i wanted that. Said it several times in fact. Should read a bit before stating things. I LOVE my apexes......im simply stating a fact......yamahas sales are falling because there are more people that care more about lightweight then reliability. Its not that people dont want reliability.....dont put words in my mouth......but there #1 concern is weight. This is a fact.....not an OPINION so please stop arguing with me. Reliability can be had with light weight.....all the other brands have proven that......so why cant yamaha have both too. Thats what people should be focusing on instead of ignoring the truth. No way I would be interested in that trade off. If you want that type of sled by a doo and buy another doo every 3500 miles. Lol

I think Yamaha is not dead in the sled end of things, I believe they will come out with something pure Yamaha in the reliable and light weight for the sled division of Yamaha, some say its being tested as we speak, Yamaha has the capability to do this and is putting a lot of tech into Turbo's , years back they came out with a Phazer 2 maybe a Apex 2 is in the cards, just wait " you haven't seen anything yet"I never said i wanted that. I am from the sportbike world and the indestructible, absolutely bullet proof, precision made, Japanese engineered, R1 (apex) engine is what sold me. On top of the bullet proof easy 25,000 plus millage engine, the incredible fit and finish of the body etc. You get every single dime's worth. Every dime.

DEEP pockets is all I have to say. Yamaha Motor Corporation has revenues between 1 to 2 BILLION every 365 days. THEN you have Yamaha Corporation itself with another 3.5 BILLION in sales every 365 days. They have lots of room for error and experimentation.

Yamaha has moved there off road and snowmobile division to Toronto Canada to develop new cutting edge designs in off road products and snowmobiles, the Karpiks bro's have also been hired to help with design and vision which was a good move for Yamaha, this move to Toronto I believe has lifted some restrictions in development that was imposed on Yamaha when they were in Japan, now you will start to see cutting edge chassis designs and light weight 4 stroke turbo engines, just look at the high tech sidewinder engine and how that performs.......in your face Ski Doo and Polaris, and soon farewell Textron! Sounds good to me.
Me too! You guys have gotten my spirits up and hope again. Maybe the reason they didn't celebrate the 50th much and no more advertising etc. is they are spending the $ and time making that lightweight,4cyl 200hp,gear reduction, Crossplane apex with ZPS suspension modeled after the Trophy trucks. Low with big travel. SRXII.Sounds good to me.

SRX-4 has a nice ring to it. Not only the fourth body style srx but the engine to go with it.
