So, should I buy a sidewinder??

Yeah, I alw

Yeah, I always thought my 2012 Apex was "High Performance." Then, I grabbed a handful of throttle on the LTX-LE for the first time a year ago. I still remember that sensation very clearly. The farm field became very very short in very very short order. The sled was quiet as it accelerated so linear and smoothly like a rocket forcing me to hang on in disbelief and amazement. After I let up the throttle, I stopped and got off the sled, walked a couple of yards, looked back at the sled, thought to myself "what have I gotten myself into... this thing can't be legal!"

Then, I walked back to the sled, got on it, and hammered the throttle again because I was hooked!!!!

No regrets selling the Apex...
This is what I am hoping for . After 11 years on a apex and 19k miles 6 of us apex guys road a demo last year in the up. Came away unimpressed all of us. But I was ready to ride something different this year and came a crossed a deal. I will be on a Rtx le sidewinder this year and hope it goes well. I want to ride in some of those "short" fields and enjoy the pull of this new ride. If it doesn't work out there will be many apex sleds out there and I'm sure a bunch of people who will buy the sidewinder

No. While I haven't tried a sidewinder and I know everyone who has really likes the power I have tried a viper and since doing so every sled with a raised seat looks like riding one of these to me. Not that there's anything wrong with doing whatever it takes to not crack a hip but until then low and fast is what matters. I wouldn't want a car over 40" tall either.

Bud......don't forget to include the trade-in dollars from old sled. Plus negotiating skills, should be worth another couple thousand.

I'd hand her $5,000 and see how it goes.

I think you and your Apex buds should stay on your Apex if the Winder doesn't impress you. You guys must like that tug boat feel and drone in your ears. Stuff like that you just can't get from other sleds. Had I liked my Apex that much I never would have gone Doo 1200 and now Sidewinder. I could have saved myself a ton of money.

Does that mean you are picking me up on way to Maine. I got tired of making the trip by myself

Can't pick you up this time in December Steve. But if you're up in N. Aroostook the week after Xmas, stop by the Sporting Club or the lakeview and we'll hook up.

We rode 137 inch sleds and those don't transfer, have heavy steering and only pull away from a stock apex after 90 mph. I know we ran them against each other in the back of the pack. Drone?? I must ride fast enough that it was never a problem. Tug boat feel? Not sure on that either as I never had trouble keeping up and have lighter sleds (2 stroke) and I have those also sitting in the garage I could ride Looking forward to winter to find out if my 129 inch works better

Then I would say save yourself some bucks and stay happy with your Apex.

The 137 takes a bit of setting up as far as suspension goes but once you have it set-up it reminds me of my old srxs which felt like they were on rails. Trust me you'll forget about that old school apex once you get the winder dialled in.

I'm used to low...several machz triples, but I have to admit, the wrp seat is a lot higher and stays firmer, and I didn't notice any less stability on the apex, but thanks for the comment. I want to hear good bad and ugly.

I spring ordered mine having never owned a Yamaha since 1989. Decision was based on reviews horsepower and Yamaha engine and clutch reliability.
Yamaha hit a home run here all things considered.
Would be nice to get this suspension slung lower for Lake days.

FINESY, you are still mean, but i like your style. When in doubt, buy both! See how simple he makes it...

Ya sure..30 plus grand...everybody has that kind of dough to spend on a three and a half month a year hobby... right?????

One is expensive enough for god sakes.

But if you got that kind of jing...why not...can't take it with you!

I was at the dealers yesterday and my wife was looking at the sleds. She may be ordering something for next year. She really likes my Winder so who knows.

Joe, I was wondering about that...haha.

Did Don have any of those LE's left? I may have to drop in there again to see those.

Did they go over your sled?

Dan
