My TD flasher is showing both a P100A and a P1236 error code, but neither one of these codes are displayed on the dash. From googling it looks like on the dash the P100A is a throttle cable sensor issue and P1236 is boost leak. Is this still the case when the codes don't display on the dash...
I brought my 137 XTX home in a u-haul 6x12. Only thing I did was get some plywood to throw under the sled so it doesn't wreck the trailer and get you charged u-hauls insane damage fees. I cut 3 sheets of plywood to fit the 6x12 inside with 1 layer of plywood over the full floor of the trailer...
I would be okay with an electric sled but it has to maintain the power to weight ratio that we have today on our sidewinders and be able to do 300 mile days. That technology doesn't exist yet and probably will never exist. Double so to operate well in the cold.
I would love the instant...
I have not. I plan to replace the track next summer with a bit taller lug either 1.5" or 1.6" and at that time will either have the current shaft spray welded to an interference fit or if the new shafts are all correctly fit possibly just replace the shaft.
If the sled was brand new I would do...
True, this is my first foray into the world of 200HP+ sleds. I kinda knew what I was getting into but didn't expect this much to be wrong with a sled at only 1200 miles. I also don't think the guy who owned it before me took care of it at all. Just bought a new one every other year so he...
I have done everything on it myself so far. The problem is I bought it this spring and discovered the following.
1. Coolant hose on the right in the tunnel was torn, all the coolant drained out onto my garage floor within 2 weeks of getting it.
Replaced hose and added BOP protectors...
Odds are I will be there, need to confirm that everyone has backed out in my group first. Would just go on my own but don't have confidence in the SW yet after all the things busted/wrong that I found on it this spring/summer.
What are the requirements for someone to show up to one of these? I was planning a separate trip but it is sounding like everyone but me is going to back out... Letting the sled sit in the garage until January is not an option.
When I was looking at the 4-strokes (I came from Poo 2smoke land) I wanted the 137" after seeing how often my buddy would bury his ZR5000 in 12" of loose snow. I wanted the extra track for those times hopping the ditch (or snowbank) to not bury a 600Ib sled. The 121" tracks are glorious set up...
FYI, my bearing had spun on the shaft pretty bad so i replaced the bearing and used the BOP McWedggie and it was fine after a season of riding. Took 55 ft lbs to lock it up so i went with 60 lbs
Is the sled still under warranty? Let the dealer do the work
No the warranty ran out 2 weeks...
I came from polaris 2 stroke land, my 2 fusions in 11000 miles did not require as much work as the sidewinder has already taken and those are sleds known for having significant issues... I also know I got really lucky with those 2. The 700 was tuned up and did 160HP at the crank but still made...
How many miles are on that sled?
I was considering letting my driveshaft be this year (it already has 1200 miles without mcwedgey) and replacing it next year after all the bad shafts are out of the supply chain while doing the track next fall...
Yup, anything listed on the used market is always mint and in perfect condition, nothing wrong at all. No idea how those people can sleep at night, I felt compelled to tell people about every little problem when I sold my 2 confusions so they knew what they were buying (and still got top dollar...
