I'm going to spend saturday riding I think and putting on mileage as it will likely be my last ride of the season..Might pop over sunday if the radar gun is out just to take in the sights.
I'll take a stock mtn riser as well if anyone has swapped out.
Welterracer gets first crack at any of them but if there are others out there shoot me a PM and we'll strike a deal
You inviting the dootalk boys as well? :D :tg:
I think I'll be picking up my Mach this weekend on my way up. Will be good to see the old gal again
Blue: i didnt realize you had an apex!?! this just very recent? still have the mach?
The fuel issue is something that I'm well aware of and will be a deciding factor in the kit I choose. I'm not totally satisfied with any of the setups out there but it sounds as though Simons may be working...
sorry about that, this will be a front mount on an apex.
I guess many of the vital fittings on the Rx1 are related to the carbs which obviousl does not apply.
hey guys,
Looking for some advice from you long time turbo rx1 owners who have some miles and many hours under their belt with boosted sleds.
What must-have accessories/fittings or other gadgets are out there that are considered a necessity for these sleds from either a performance or...
hey dan,
ya I was hoping you could get out for the ride with us. We started off from Brandons and headed out across lake of bays to dorset. The lake was slushy at that point but still pretty good, there were sections though that had a lot of standing water which made for some fun riding!! i...
hey Pete, nah, just the track and likely the tunnel extension. I'll need a fully clipped track and I will likely goto an aftermaket tunnel extension that has a "kick-up" designed into it.
thats exactly why I wanted to do the swap
Interesting you found that mighty. The reason for me switching over to the 136 skid was by no means for off trail traction but with out a doubt the 136 made a noticeable difference for me off trail. Simmons ski's upfront help quite a bit as well but climbing hills and breaking trail required...
To be honest I really did not get a good chance to put it through its paces. We did put a few miles on the trail but they were table top smooth!! The sled was pushing quite badly in the corners partly due to the fact that the snow was so soft and heavy and also because of the fact I did not...
well the RTX is now stretched out to 136". The swap went quite smoothly, a couple pounds of wings and a few beers later she was ready to rock. A big thanks to mnmsnowbeast for the smooth transaction which involved shipping our skids from Ontario to Maine and vice versa. And lastly to machzed...
thanks to those who took the time to respond.
I bit the bullet and ordered up a EBC yesterday so I'll keep my fingers crossed that it is up to the task.
thanks
I've never actually actually gone through this process myself. There was a point in time a couple years ago that I considered switching from 'Zuk in favor of a 04 R1 so I spent some time over on the R1 forums. Just the other day out of the blue I remember reading about this years back and went...
a couple guys I ride with have the Experts and swear by em. The one is running a boosted RX1 with 136 Expert X and he loves it. Having had experience with the Xpert yoruself you know how it is in terms of ride/handling but in terms of boost everything I've seen seems to indcate its been working...
my years of being involved in the sportbike world could prove to be useful for more than getting speeding tickets if this actually works...who knows though, for all I know it could be completely different. I havent taken a look at an Apex ECU.
I'll bring a case of beer and bottle of CC up...
does anyone know how similar the ECU in the Apex is to it's road going brother the R1?
this is an old R1 trick that guys use on their fuelies to adjust for minor mods such as slipons, filters etc...or potentially in our case Ram Air kits and exhaust.
1) Coming out of the ECU is a yellow...
I hope to have my sled put back together and up and running late thursday night or early early friday morning. I want to spend Friday RIDING and not WRENCHING. We will make the most of the mild weather!! lots of snow still and we can cruise lake of bays in our hawaiian shorts and tshirts for...
