I've been tossing and turning with the idea of ordering an electronic boost controller but have serious concerns in regards to the resiliancy of these units and can they truly be reliable on a sled? Unlike the cabin of a car a snowmobile is subjected to a much harsher climate (temperature variances, moisture, snow, ice) and I'm worried that adding aftermarket electronics to the sled is going to come back to bite me in the #*$&@.
Can these units reliably operate in the harsh conditions that it will be subjected to during it's life mounted to a boosted yammie? Where are you guys mounting your EBC's? Do the LCD displays need to be entirely isolated and sealed from the great outdoors? The benefits of these units are obviously great but if these units aren't up to the pounding they'll undoubtedly take then I may reconsider.
I know a lot of you guys are using them so lets hear it. And in my instance this would not be used on a sled that is trailered out to the local drag races, unloaded, running a couple passes and then loaded back on its throne....this sled will be ridden daily, on the trail and on the drag strip.

I think not, stick with a manuel one! To much stuff to worry about already!

I have the exact same question. The benefits of the EBC are really making me want to do the upgrade from a boost-T.

This is for mountain riding 2000+ miles per year, hauled around in the back of a pickup to and from the hill. Rain, snow, steam from powder getting in the hood area etc etc. It gets a chance to dry out overnight in a garage, but durability and the like are paramount.

I have had a HKS EVC5 on my sled all season, lots of Quebec riding with NO problems.

My first one was mounted on the handlebars...Failed.
My current fuel controller is mounted in a nice cutout where one would normally put their reverse handle. Oh, and I silicone'd it like crazy to keep moisture out. No problems since the relocation & silicone treatment.

I have a wonderful mounting place on my TRX where the steering post USED to come through the tank shroud. I would like to try that location but would like to hear from more people about their results first.
Anyone else? Anyone have trouble with the dislpay getting moisture inside?
I had tons of trouble with moisture getting into the 'waterproof' DigiTron guages on my old 2-smokes so a bit gunshy here.
