the track size is a nominal size, the real length is the product of pitch x number of pitches.
57 x 2.52 = 143.64 inches
the pitch is measured at the center of the belt (where the fibers are) and thus the inside will be slightly smaller.
But, tracks start on the tight side and stretch...
Do what I did when this happened. I just swapped drivers to 2.86 pitch and ran a 146 track. Worked great. This was with a skid change and I couldn't go any further forward with the front mount. You can use an online tool to draw the shape and measure circumference. Or do it like I did and...
If you own a S-TX sled with the 146 skid, I need some measurements. I need the skid mount measurements. I can even come measure it myself if you are close enough.
Models I know of that have this skid (there are likely others too)...
2016 SRVIPER S-TX DX 146
2017 SRVIPER S-TX DX 146...
They should be metric. I believe they were M8x1.0x20 or 30 or so. The kit came with stainless machine screws I believe. I probably have a belly pan around here with the inserts installed somewhere. However, easier to just get a few metric bolts and try them by hand until you find what fits...
I'll settle for the CTC between the mount locations. If someone with one of the following sleds would measure and post, it would be very helpful.
2016 SRVIPER S-TX DX 146
2017 SRVIPER S-TX DX 146
2018 SIDEWINDER S DX 146
There are likely several others that have the same mount measurements...
Can someone post the mount measurements of the STX DX 146 skid. I believe this came in both the Sidewinder and Viper models between 2016-2021? Basically I need to duplicate the geometry (drive axle to each mount CTC, and mount to mount CTC) in a different sled.
UPDATE: I did some research and it appears that this skid is used in the STX models - maybe the DX refers to the Yamaha name for the skid?
Any feedback on the 146 skid found in the Yamaha STX models like the Winder STX or Viper STX?
... I assume this skid found it's way into some Yamaha...
This shock blew up shortly after a refresh in mild bump conditions. Sure been punished way harder before. It seems apparent that the shock locked up on compression and bent the shaft, then the rest of the carnage occurred. But what do you guys see?
Rummaging around in my used parts I found a set in good condition. Is it bad that I have no recollection of where these came from? I am betting from Travis at barnofparts, but no recall whatsoever.
Reminds me of West Yellowstone in 2019, we were getting stuck going downhill. Thank goodness we were riding with a bunch of locals whose deep powder skills greatly exceeded ours. The 174's were the only way to go that day, but I was glad I had a 165 x 3 inch 850 Summit. Power felt like a...
Thanks
Actually we will park on 451 (the road the trail hits north of where Jerry's hot dog stand used to be). We have to go a little SE from where they quit plowing to get into the cabin (near Eagle's Nest), but I'll definitely head over where you say, likely just ride from the cabin. I have...
Gonna be at a backwoods cabin NE of Seney on Thu this week. Where did you find the best snow - 2 tracks and off-trail. I got everything straight again on my 02 Viper so need to bend some stuff again. ;)
