I have had the Backcountry 1.75 x 144 on 4 sleds now and have gotten along Great with all of them. I wouldn’t think Of running anything else. They wear great, are good on & off trail
I would Highly recommend getting one. It is possible to get the belt on and off without one, but if you blow a belt and have to dig the Reminence of your belt out of your clutch, that tool is priceless.
I have one on both my Sidewinders and my Apex.
Well, I’ll be 62 this September and don’t see me slowing down at all. Try to get 4,000-6,000 miles a year weather permitting. Been riding sleds for over 45 years. I Got a 2nd Sidewinder this winter. Now I have to decide which one to ride in the mornings!! LOL
Riding Boosted sleds keeps me...
I want to Thank Redbeard for the DYI belt changing tool.
Just installed mine and tested it out and it works Great.
If I would ever shread a belt, it will be Great to hold the clutch open if it has strands of string from the belt wound up in it!
Hope I never need it, ( it’s on my “18” Apex) but...
Did you have a Rupp Yankee also Mark, that was my first sled in high school. That sled made me so much trouble I got rid of it and got a Yamaha Exciter and have never looked back;)!
I love my Apex's, don't get me wrong they are so tough and reliable, I never plan on getting rid of them. But that being said, If I have my choice, my Sidewinder is my sled of choice as of right now.
My "HOPE" is that we will have a new "YAMAHA" sled for 2020 that will become our sled of choice...
We are heading up either Monday the 8th or probably Tuesday the 9th depending on work here at home and the weather. Depending on trails conditions and how crowded they are we will head home Sunday or Monday
