I’m convinced Yamaha will stay in the sled biz thru 2020 but BNG is technically staying in the biz. The Yamaha inventory reduction program spawned all the speculation regrading their future fueled by posts where enthusiasts say hey no inventory in my area and my dealer is pissed and doesn’t understand. These are the posts I’m reading on TY and also discussions wondering if Yamaha reads threads on TY. I’m true Blue but I have absolutely no idea if Yamaha will offer anything new from TRF and I do know the production of Japan built sleds are over of past models. That’s not enough for me and Yamaha could easily give us more in a very subtle marketing Video. I have major concerns regarding what Yamaha really will do for a 2020 line up. As I said BNG is technically keeping their word to be in 2020 sled biz but hardly impressive or interesting. Often times prototypes have been seen in WI and the UPMI but no one has seen anything which is highly unusual for product testing. There is no indication anything new and exciting is being tested.

The way I read it, Yamaha is simply trying to lower inventory for a year with plans of releasing a whole new line up in 2020. With only a few spring order models in 2019 this will limit 2019 sales to clean up old inventory. Yamaha has something up there sleeve mark my words

I love my Apex's, don't get me wrong they are so tough and reliable, I never plan on getting rid of them. But that being said, If I have my choice, my Sidewinder is my sled of choice as of right now.
My "HOPE" is that we will have a new "YAMAHA" sled for 2020 that will become our sled of choice. I didn't snowcheck a 2019 because I really believe there is a true Yamaha sled on the near horizon that will be my next my next sled of first choice!!

I'm waiting Yamaha!! Are you listening??? LOL

I have been holding back on current Viper and SW criticism but many TY members and Yamaha enthusiasts don’t like them and want a new platform. Imo Yamaha has to move on with new models and if they stay with the current models and just do BNG it is a downward reduced sale market approach to nowhere.Wow!!! LMAO!!!

Just my 2 cents, most of the comments or criticism seem to surround maintenance, or ease of maintenance issues and how cat chose to put some of the various systems together. Overall in the handling and performance department these sleds have been a huge leap forward for Yamaha.

One of the ongoing criticisms of the Viper and SW sleds on Snow Trax TV here in Ontario, Canada has always been the skis and the heavy front end.
If they are going to continue making 4 strokes only then they must R&D a better ski/carbide combo for the push of a heavier 4 banger. By the way Snow Trax loves the 1049cc 4 banger in the Viper, named it there best 4 stroke sled engine of all time.
But Yami if you are reading this they absolutely loved the old triple 2 STROKES MORE and firmly believe you should bring them back...........honestly that's what they said!!

My Viper turns like a dream with stock skis and aggressive snowtrackers, not heavy at all. Remember though the 14's came with cat skis.

My take is Arctic Cat will still be around in 2020 building 9ooo`s and 7000`s. Yamaha will be there to putting stickers on the Cats! I think what many want to know is will Yamaha still be around building sleds! From what I have seen and heard in the video the answer is no, not as a sled builder! Sad that an iconic sled such as the SRX is now a re badged Yamaha! Cat stole their Thunder again!
