Before you try the power steering plates try Stud Boy Deuce carbides. MCB performance is currently running a clearance sale on them for the USI skis. These carbides eliminate darting and greatly lighten up the steering effort for these skis, and they also wear like iron.
Power steering...
Wow RTX, I love that! I have hated the dull blue since I picked mine up. Well, hate is a strong word maybe as I still think it looks awesome as is but you get the idea.
It isn't throwing any codes is it? If there is a fault the computer can identify it will display a code in your display readout while you are turning the engine over (and I think it stays on the screen for a bit after) that then you can look up and identify any issues. My '09 apex wouldn't...
Yeah, I've seen the tricked toys ones and was hoping there were other options. These seem like a popular high margin easy-to-produce part, I'm really surprised no one makes a nice tuning fork gas cap.
Anyone know where some cool billet gas caps can be found? I love my cap I have on my apex and don't know why we can't get any cool ones for the sidewinder?
I'll be running it on my sidewinder, ltx le. I've run it in the past on my apex ltx gt. I liked them but harder steering than snowtrackers.

I think I used the stage 2 fins. Stage 1 don't stick down at all and only protect the ski iirc. I'd contact usi direct for the mounts, they are very responsive via email or phone and will take care of you.

I have a belt change tool to make that a cinch so no worries about that. Was looking for a simple way to adjust belt deflection and maintain float.

Also I don't think any complaints have ever been levied about the triple threats pushing, not turning, or not floating or anything like that. They are a great aggressive trail ski. Only complaint I've ever heard on them is the additional steering effort in certain conditions they require due...
I've heard the stories, I've probably put on 8000 aggressive miles on snowtrackers over the last 5 or 6 years and experienced none of those issues. Proper set up I'm sure has something to do with that (neutral toe, weight off of the skis) but I feel like the horror stories are overblown and I...
I have the ice attack xt on my apex and so far I'm really impressed with the bite that track gets. I love it. I have the ice cobra on the sidewinder and don't have enough time on that yet to get a good opinion. Definitely not even close to the same bite that the ice attack xt has on icy trails...
Anyone know what would be needed to get the old style mountain skis (that were on the nytro and apex mtx versions) to fit the sidewinder? I really like these skis as they work really well with either deuce bars or snowtrackers on the trail but yet have good flotation and steering for off trail...
MCB right now has the stud boy deuce bars on clearance, $70 for a pair of the 6" ones I think? That is about half price. Part number for the Deuces is USI-D2214-60. I'd run the Deuce's before I ran standard shapers because they don't dart and last forever.
Not sure if this does anyone any good, but I noticed if you look at arctic cat parts nation you can find the parts catalog listing for the new M 9000 king cat. I found this interesting because the catalog is not available for any of the sidewinders or other 9000 arctic cat machines. This may...
I loved the old mountain ski with either snowtrackers when trail conditions are good or stud boy dually's when trails are marginal (due to their robustness). I'm going to try snowtrackers on the tuner 3 this year and then also see how my USI X2's with dually's do on the sidewinder and see which...
Good to know you aren't having problems. I'm not really concerned, I would however like to maintain that float if possible using something like OSP's belt adjuster with float.
Mine was low also but that's fine as I always like to add a little Royal Purple Purple Ice super coolant to my machines' coolant systems, seems to help them run cooler. This is what I topped mine off with.
