I know this is preaching to the chior for a lot of you, but for the new guys looking to get some things done to their Yamahas.
Allan at Ulmer Racing has once again shown me why they are so well respected.
I sent in my clutches off the Viper and was looking for some adjustable weight advice...
What is this tool that saves time and money?
A PC.
We put a networked PC in the shop a couple years ago for service related documentation/study/research etc.
This year I put a 42" monitor on it so you can stand around it and everyone can see/read.
Just about every type of service you can...
Damn, I just redid the whole back yard and seeded it. 100lbs of seed 20 bales of straw. WAY more work than hydroseeding.
If you ever want to hang with a group of TY guys, New Ipswich isn't far. The offer of the shop is open too if you want to get anything done.
We are all in our 40's but still...
Where do you live?
We have a sweet shop setup if you ever need to do anything major. Heat/AC big screen - my idea of a man cave.
If it is a Yamaha 4 stroke chances are we have done it.
$560.00 - takes the fun right out of it. That is like 2 weekends of belts for you isn't it? LOL
I have to say I have never had a bad experience with a NH Fish & Game officer. I have been a hunter/fisher and powersports nut all my life and have run into them many times over the years. Not sure...
I run simmons gen3 skis. I was never able to get the tuners to steer the way I like. Before you go spending 100-200 just for carbides, take a look at some other skis - JMO.
I run a 145lb spring in the rear front with 5 threads (showing) of pre-load. It makes a big difference. I just added the...
Between Manchester and Nashua.
After over 25 years of riding I got my first ticket this year. The F&G guys could not have been any cooler about it. We lost 2 guys in the back of our group so I went back to find them. 20 minutes later we were on an old property border road trying to catch back...
A fellow NH rider. I live in Southern NH but we ride all over from here to Pittsburg. It is funny that you mention loud pipes - I have never had an issue in NH with them in the past. The new Viper with the trail can sounds sweet!
I have a 2015 XTX and have done a bunch of stuff to it.
Here...
2015 XTX LE - Summer Mods
Hygear rear linkage kit
Had Ulmer machine the clutches
Ordered Ulmers new airbox mod
Fully clip track (141 cobra)
New carbides for the Gen3's
Dupont slides
Added some more picks - 141 now.
Ordered the AC windshield with mirrors (they may not get added I'm still up in...
I ended up getting the Dalton Quick Adjust from Ulmer. I had sent Allen my clutches for machining and ordered his air box mod. He suggested the Daltons based on my setup and their ease of adjustment, they can easily be done in the clutch on trail.
The re-flash from a programmatic/computer sense isn't magic. It has been being done since the early space programs. A well designed system meant to be updated has a minimum of 2 locations for programs, A and B and the ECU can boot/load either one.
They typically leave the factory with both...
I have a buddy that just picked up a 2013 Nytro XTX and I was wondering are they prone to the same sagging I hod on the 2009 or was it ever addressed?
If it is prone to the same sagging, is the Star Suspension upgrade still the way to go?
I wonder why they print otherwise?
No big deal - In the Northeast it is hard to get by without picks anyway. Too many varied rough conditions and hills. For the same reasons we don't run with holes in our tracks. If all we did is ride on the sweet groomed highways in Pittsburg, picks and holes...
Woodys says to always fill the hole or tear out. You will weaken the track at every hole location. It would be better to leave them in and cut them down. Ride over a little rock in the power lines, it opens a tiny tear, then it gets bigger etc.
