I finally got the final price for my 2016 ltx le with the mpi turbo. Although Yamaha did take off 600 for the turbo, the labour!!
20 hours 1400 can. Ouch.
But bring on the snow it all mine now.

Yeah, I agree with Pjw3350 it will be worth it. prepare for a big smile/grin while riding.
At 20 hours that sounds like it was your dealers first MPI install I am guessing? We installed both MPI turbo's on our own sleds and had about around 22-24 hours total for 2 sled, did them at the same time, side by side, set buy step and it was our first time also. (that was taking our time to, make sure things are done right) If I was to do it again I am sure I could do a install in less then 10 hours.

My dealer did my turbo install in 9 hours with the Helex, front bumper, tunnel bag, afr and boost gauge's I provided for $900 total. Said they could do a mpi turbo in 7-8 normally.

MCX and Hurricane turbos require roughly 3 hours. Just goes to show the thought put into certain products.

Not trying to start something but do your research, there's a good reason why Yamaha required MPI move all the plastic away from the turbo and relocate them to clutch side. The relocation process of all the plastic parts all requires time to do. If Yamaha was to build a sled with a turbo on it that's how they would have done it from the start. Personally I feel very good about the finished product that MPI and Yamaha have put together plus my 5 year warranty is still intact .

I had Allen Ulmer install mine with a little help from myself. We started at 8 a.m. and after machining the secondary for the 8DN, changing weights and spring, and testing, my sled was back on the trailer at 3:30 p.m. Install cost was $1k. Well worth it. He made some changes to the MPI trail kit. My snorkel is directly under the radiator, not on top of the belt cover.

Wait is that 20 hrs Canadian? My stage I was installed and clutching done by Hauck Powersports and it was the 2nd one they ever did back in 2014 and it was under 9 hrs for everything.

I negotiated my turbo install into my deal. I paid $600 for it. Yes that's Canadian. They can take all week, I don't care. I will still get the $600 back from Yamaha as I paid originally 3K for it.

I got the sled home. It was 20 hours labour for the complete mpi trail turbo. And gear and chain swap. For 1400. I got 600 dollars worth of accessories and a belt lol. I'm very happy with the way the sled looks.

Yep. I kinda wondered why all the turbo dealers did not put on a turbo heat shield/blanket. Cost?
