X2, your going to need to use 2016 153" rails. You may be able to use the rear tunnel extension and rear bumper off of the M8 though.
If you decide to do the swap, by sure to use the correct rivets at the front of the bumper. There are 4 Gold colored rivets on each side that are high strength...
Good point about the front skid shock length and front arm, I had forgotten about that.
I did the same thing back in the fall of 2013 on my 14 7000, went from a 141" to 153". The 141" front skid shock was 3/4" longer and the mounting angle for the front shock on the front arm is different...
They can be lengthened, however I'm not sure if it would be cost effective to do so. Perhaps Cannondale27 will chime in though, he does shock work and could probably give you an idea on the value and how much it would cost to lengthen your existing shocks.
Yes you can change to 141" rails and track no problem. The rear skid arms are the same and the difference between the 141", 153" and 162" rails is the length behind where the rear arm attaches to the rail.
Your going to want to use rails from the same year though (2016) as the rail shape and...
Looking good Tom;)!
Not sure what to do with the gaps other then maybe some Gorilla tape as a temporary solution. It wouldn't be pretty, but it may keep the snow out for your trip until you can come up with a more permanent answer.
Possibly fabricating some small panels out of aluminum or Black...
Yes it is.
With the 1254 on there, most likely it is a helix from a clutch kit. Normally when you buy a specific helix from Dalton it will have the angles engraved on it, such as 53/47.
With clutch kits the ID # will be in code. This is primarily to prevent someone from copying their clutch...
Looks like she's coming right along! I suspect that there have been a few long nights in the garage!
BTW the ROV valve placement should work just fine.;)!
Yeah, ultimately it may be one of those situations where you just have to get it running to see if the ECU/PCV are able to compensate for the injector size difference.
A good wide band O2 will help a lot with the tuning. You may already know this, but you have to be careful with wide bands as...
Below is a copy/paste out of the Mega-Squirt manual. While it pertains to Mega-Squirt ECU's, the principles are the same for any ECU/EFI system and it helps explain fuel percentage as it relates to pulse width time.
Idle Pulse Width
You have to select your injectors based on the maximum...
Yep, the spline clearance is intentional. The crankshaft is mounted in babbit bearings, which by design require a certain amount of clearance and end play. Usually it's around .0005" to .001". The stub shaft is mounted on two large ball bearings which essentially has near zero clearance and end...
Yeah, I hear what your saying and I think that you are correct that the stock pump probably wouldn't be able to handle 100psi!
What can happen with small displacement engines that make big power and that use fairly large injectors, is the pulse width becomes so short at idle and low engine...
DigitalFusion,
Not sure if the Phazer uses a vacuum sensing fuel pressure regulator, but you might check in to a rising rate fuel pressure regulator.
I built a MGB with supercharged V8 and use a fuel management unit...
Sounds like the air/oil separator tank may be freezing. Do you know if the dealer cleaned it out also?
The check ball inside the air/oil separator tank may be sticking as well, if it is the dealer will usually replace the separator tank.
I use 5/8" fuel/emission hose for my ROV valves. Fuel/emissions hose is oil resistant and won't break down/swell up when exposed to oil like heater hose will.
Most larger auto parts stores will carry 5/8" fuel/emissions hose in bulk.
Tom,
You might try Dustin at Outlaw Motorsports, he built a Boondocker Phazer for a buddy a few years ago and may still have a source for some of the items you need.
Originally my buddy was running stock internals but blew it up due to combination of not enough octane and to much boost. He...
Fuel injection is the same (throttle bodies and injectors come on the engine as supplied from Yamaha)
Clutches and belt are different (never had any issue with mine on my 7000)
Chain case is the same (gear ratio may be different depending on model)
Suspension/shock package varies with model...
Not sure what your running for air pressure in the shocks but you might try,
Lowering the air pressure in the ski shocks
Increasing the pressure in the front skid shock
Lowering the air pressure in the rear skid shock.
A 5 psi change can make a big difference and I probably would start with the...
DigitalFusion,
E-mail sent!
To answer your question for other members reading, yes the ROV kit will work with the Boondocker tank. In this case the shut off valve would be installed in the breather hose on the clutch side in the pic.
Also I forgot to mention this before, but if the hose shown...
