Wow, I had my sled on its left side for at least half an hour while I was working on it, and I had some oil run out of the air box afterward but nothing serious.
Pilots are only $160 shipped a pair. Best money you will ever spend on that sled. If you have arms like Popeye maybe you could just get different carbides.
The pilots are probilly going to steer the easist, but going to give up a little in the powder. For the small amount of time I spend in powder I will take the easy steering. I really like the handling of the pilots. They're easy on the wallet too at $162 shipped to my house per pair.
I' have the hygear x package, but looking for stiffer torsion springs. I have the spacers, not helping. rear shock bottoms on every G out,and feel like the rear of the sled is way under sprung. I want to try springs before I mess with the valving.
Those straps breaking must have something to do with the rebound damping of the center shock. I check mine often because last year poeple where breaking them, so after 1700 miles they look like new, but hygear has alot of rebound dampening in that shock.
I figured it was an assembly issue. These shafts don,t break for no reason. A couple times a season those bushings should be greased, so it doesn't bind up and snap a shaft off.
Hell yah. I had evo's on my race quad, and that's the way to go if your going to run air shocks. You can adjust the amount of roll in the corners with the hi/low comp. adjuster, and you should be able to run lower in the front and use the evo camber to eliminate bottoming.
Maybe some time we...
Did you call Hygear to tell them your concern? If so, what did they say? If not, maybe you should, just to see what that have to say about it..... :)
I've spent hours talking to hygear, and Ross tells me this suspension has a very narrow window, and I shouldn't expect it to do...
Your probilly going to need stiffer springs in the rear. I have the hygear x package, with the spacers and i weigh the same as you,and I'm bottoming on the g's bad. I going to get some apex springs out of a rtx and trim the 3 inches off the long wire to make them work.
I think the hygear...
Has there been anything said about eps on the nytro's. The apex's steer easy compared to the nytro's. I think poeple where hoping for a new chassis that would corner flater than the competition, along with more hp, lighter weight, and EPS. With sled sales in the toilet prob. going to have to wait...
