I figured it was an assembly issue. These shafts don,t break for no reason. A couple times a season those bushings should be greased, so it doesn't bind up and snap a shaft off.

i suspect with bent subframes, yamaha will be seeing more broken shocks. i cant see the shock taking up the .75 of an inch rear ward movement without breaking. i'd like to turn in $1000 in shock warranty for a $500 subframe

I just purchased a new leftover 2013 nytro xtx . Just riding around house front shock broke off at threads at bottom of shock at 160 miles. The second shock broke at 200 miles, riding on a well groomed trail. Any Ideas what could be going on here? The dealers said he never heard of this.

This happened to me on my 2013 xtx, when the dealer put it together they put the ski washers on the shocks so they couldn't pivot in return broke the shafts. About the same miles as you. Since new shocks were put on the right way I now have 3100 problem free miles on. P.S. It is a skidoo pulling machine! lolI just purchased a new leftover 2013 nytro xtx . The ski washers your talking about are on what part of the shocks? The dealer gave me a new shock under warranty but I put it on myself. I put it exactly like the old one was on. I am now waiting on my second shock to arrive so I can put that on. I am wondering where are the ski washers are so I don't possibly make the same mistake. I attached a pic of the broken shock. Any help would be great!

The dealer put the washers that are suppose to go on the bolts of the skis they put on the shock bolts which made the eyes of the shock where you bolt it up to tight which would not let it pivot freely. Just make sure you don't have any washers on your shock bolts, just the bolt and nut. Hope this helps. The ski washers your talking about are on what part of the shocks? I did find 2 washers on the bottom of the shock where it bolts to a arm. I guess that's the problem. Thanks for the help.
