You will loose about 1" of travel but they should work fine. It's probable that they have in internal spacer that could be removed during a rebuild to gain some extra length too.
I'm lucky to live in an area that has lots of legal off-trail areas and many lakes to play on. Minnesota has "Stay on the Trail" even if it's not posted "No Trespassing", No riding Agricultural land, and Ditch bombing is allowed everywhere except the Metro. I was surprised my first trip to the...
I think 8 tooth drivers are a must IMO, My MTX is almost totally loose on the adjustment and there is no way I could loosen it more to clear 9 tooth drivers. 8t+18/41 gears are a hoot but I can run mine up to the limiter in under 1/4 mile (87 on the speedo) with that. I could even hit the rev...
I used the arctic cat Fox zero 2704-190 and 175# spring, picked mine up a few months ago, ~10$ more than the Arctic "Cat zero pro Clone" shock. I think its listed under the 12' proclimb models. cost me 170$ shipped to my door for the setup.
My XTX has full coil overs now, I use a pair of Winder...
I did most with a HD manual riveter that I got at Menards, similar action to a bolt cutter. The few I couldn't do with that I used a regular grip squeeze style and it was pretty tough but got the job done, and I DON'T have strong hands.
I took my SPI/Ulmer off at the end of this season, seemed to be getting louder to my ears but I didn't bother to check it with my sound meter (The can passed UP sound check). I have about 3500 miles on it and I'm wondering it the packing started to burn out, especially with the leaner Dec 18'...
It's the "active riding required" that gives it bad reviews (and the looks). The harder I push the Phazer the better machine it becomes. It handles poorly if you just sit back and steer but has enough power to run with faster sleds with ease as long as you stay off Lakes and Railbeds. Even then...
I ran some numbers on that, without going over the 600# mark it's hard to cram enough "current tech" battery into a chassis to go beyond 40 trail miles on a charge, but that's at the Sidewinder performance level. It would take a full 16-18 hours on a 15 amp 110v to recharge.
Just logged 150 miles on my Phazer when I took my little sister out for a ride and put her on my Viper, I actually forgot how fun that sled is........ and forgot how well my sister can ride as I had the phazer pinned keeping up. I started riding in the early 90's and the vast majority of the...
They took their most reliable engine, by far, and replaced it with the 650. They claim 12% more HP and 15% more torque which would put it around 135-140hp. Can’t wait to find one with the Viper, which is a lot closer to my buddies 800 Assault than his 600 Rush.
Yep, besides being HARD as a rock, the trails are in great shape yet around me, though 45*f on Sunday may change that. 2 years ago I put 150 miles on on April 17th , by far the latest I've gotten a ride in up here.
I think that about sums it it, Doo G4 really improve Doo handling but I still find my Viper a better trail sled (once I rid myself of the horrible float shocks). In the ditches/powder you notice the Vipers weight, though I'd choose a Poo Assault 600 over the Renegade.
They come from the factory set for 10k, at least mine did. Middle hole open, and 10.3 steel in the tip. Here in MN I have them fully loaded with 17.2 steels to turn 11,200. If yours was set up similar (might have 13.3 steels in both or a 13.3 center/17.2 tip combo) you could remove the center...
I don't think I've actually worn out a belt, usually I'll notice some cracking between some lugs and change it out. I'm fairly aggressive and ~2500-3000 miles is about my average.
The Ace 900 I rode had worse throttle delay than my F150 which also has E-throttle. I'm use to my Phazer and Viper, both have very responsive thottles.
I believe 16+ XTX rails are the same as MTX profile rails. 14-15 XTX are an older cat profile. Country Cat has the 153” Backcountry track for 399$ if you want an easy fix to make it “trail friendly”
