Asking question/opinions: for those that have had both BOP MPS and GSE Powersteering on same (or nearly identical) sled, how would you compare the steering effort for each? Nearly same? Or, which one was easier at average trail speed? Which one is easier on tight twisty trails?
My new product for the sidewinder, MPS also works on the Viper so I just wanted to post in the viper section. For detailed info check out the sidewinder thread or my website.

I purchased the Barn of Parts Mechanical PowerSteering kit for my '21 Sidewinder SRX and rode Wed - Sun of last week putting on over 600 miles. I rode with two others that have electric powersteering on their '23 and '25 SRX's to compare the BOP kit against. I would hands-down buy a Sidewinder...
So I finally got to test my MPS prototype for the 09+ Nytro. I had the 08 version installed in fall, but ended up parting the sled before snow came. Buddy and I put 45 miles on the prototype yesterday morning. Stopped at another buddies house that has a Nytro and we jumped back and forth...
Feedback from guys running my MPS kit on Sidewinder and Viper has been nothing but praise, so I'm now ready to expand the concept to the the older deltabox chassis sleds that did not have electronic powersteering. This was my plan all along, as I had prototype arms made up back in the fall. I...
That's because that Apex (ie. non-EPS) has BOP's MPS kit which comes with bent tie rods. I believe it was Knapp that mentioned when he ran the MPS kit, he did not use the bent tie rods.
Greetings
Does anyone have any experience with this?

Now that I have the new WRP seat for my 03 RX-1 I am trying to improve the handling without breaking the bank.
Basically the steering is heavy. I know its because its a heavy sled and the...
Way back at this post, you hinted about MPS for other models. Any news on that front? My MP would certainly need it and someone else has mentioned high steering effort. And since mine will need outer tie rods, I would rather put the money towards this instead.
Although I don't have the GSE electric powersteering kit, I do have EPS on my 18 Apex XTX and MPS on the my 08 Apex LTX. Here's a link to a write-up I did earlier in the year after getting some seat time on Travis' MPS kit...
A few comments in separate threads. The short answer is that it seems to work as advertised.

If you put snowtracker skags on they will make it steer easier.
I also make mechanical powersteering kits for that model. You give up some turning radius but the steering effort is drastically reduced.
Here is a link to the kits on my website. You would need the delta box kit for that sled...
The MPS give you a mechanical advantage that will allow you to have a better, fighting chance of avoiding the tree to begin with. It has no impact on risk and a small impact on your pocket. It certainly won't raise the risk of hitting anything and you get a better steering experience the...
Unfortunately my season ended with shoulder surgery 5 days ago. 6-9 months of PT and I should be ready to go next season with caution. I may need to get my other shoulder done at some point as well. Given that I may need to “take it easy” for a few seasons... which sled set up would be easiest...
If you add more preload to the front track shock spring it will take some weight off the skis. Taking weight off skis can result in pushing, so its a balancing act. If you really want easy steering check out my mechanical powersteering kit (MPS).
