Mine did the same thing at 180 miles. Dealer put a brand new one on but like everyone waiting for snow now. Check Apex forums, there's a bulletin from Yamaha that they are replacing all 2017 Apex shocks. What about the Vector???
I have had 3 of them all break at the collector just like the picture. Weld it. 8000 miles on one of them with no more probs. Do the donuts while you're in there. The donuts seem to need replacing every 5k miles.
My 2005 Vector did that last year. Broke right off where the 3 pipes merge into the collector. Welded it back together myself and have 3500 miles on it so far with no problems. Weld it or take it to someone who can fix it up for you. Much cheaper than a new one.
Went through 2 belts this season. The first one was due but the second only had 1000 miles on it. After the second one it is squealing on the belt at idle. I did notice that one of the buttons on the secondary is broken in half. I need to go through both the primary and secondary to check...
I ended up welding it back together and it seems to be strong. I will be putting a new one in after this season when I go thru the skid cause it will rust at the weld now. Able to keep riding for now tho. Will post if it breaks again. 8500 miles on the sled.
Well did some trail riding over the holiday and my 05 Vector got progressively louder throughout the day yesterday until it was deafening. Was hoping for the donuts being gone but figured it was too loud for that. Tore into it. Exhaust broken in half at the muffler clamp. Anyone ever seen...
Thanks. Its just about impossible to measure so a good reference would be the number of threads exposed from the end of the bolt to the nut. I've got the suspension dialed in now but the previous owner had the weight transfer all to the rear and I think he may have adjusted the straps as well...
I have an 04 Warrior and when I got it the rear suspension setup was way out of whack. I have gotten it much better over the last couple years of tuning but I feel that I am still lacking some down pressure on the skis. I have tightened the limiter straps once and it helped. I am thinking of...
www.metricpartsoutlet.com is where I usually shop online and they are cheaper than anything I have compared. 7-10 business days and don't always answer the phone tho.
My speedo bearing went out at 5K miles on my Warrior. Noticed my speedo going crazy and stopped to check it out. Thankfully it didn't damage the tunnel but it was the worse day of snowmobiling we ever had trying to get that sled out of the woods. I then did decided I better do the bearings on...
How many miles? I lost 2 bearings in idler wheels this year and the remaining ones weren't good when I tore it down. Mine's got 7000 miles. Screwed up some collars and stuff when they went too so I will now replace them every 5k or so.
You basically have to take the skid out and tear it...
I just bought an 05 RS Vector with 5800 miles. I already own a 04 Warrior and had the speedo drive shaft bearing go out on me last year at around 5000 mile mark. The drive system looks the same on the RS. Just wondering if they have the same bearing trouble and if I should be replacing it...
2004 Warrior. I just did the jackshaft bearings following the instructions in the tech pages. Everything went great except when I put the secondary back on there's about an 1/8" or more play after tightening the secondary bolt. I have the washers in the correct order-I'm sure. I don't...
