Yamaha has sent out a bulletin that they will replace all 2017 APEX rear shocks. But owner is responsible for installation labor. Nothing is mentioned about the 16 APEX.

It won't cost yamaha a lot of money with about 25 sleds to do in total.

FYI for any Canadian owners, I just spoke with my Dealer, and they just received a similar bulletin (same date) from Yamaha Motor Canada.

I find them a bite stiff, but I also bought them used, and don't know the history of how they were built for. I may buy lighter springs for them.
The springy bouncy bottoming is now gone.
But they make the sled handle better and flatter.
