Bought a used skid for my '08 nytro. Wanted to use my stock upper idler wheels but think i'm missing something. The instructions say to secure with the snap rings. I dont have any snap rings or see where they wound go. I already sold my factory skid so dont have anything to go off of.

I haven't installed the skid yet. Been trying to get all my parts ordered as work has been busy. I think I'm just going to do it. Been in touch with OFT and will get them coming this week.

I have an '08 MTX and just purchased a used Timbersled skid with 162 rails. I was looking on the website and found an update kit for pre '10 skids. Has anyone done this or is it needed? Thanks!

What type of riding are you doing? I've been searching and reading on here for weeks about clutches. I dont really want to buy a kit...just want to get rid of the high RPM engagment.
There was a recent write up about phone apps in dirtwheels mag. I will try to find it and see what they recommend... I do remember the polaris app being high on the list.

Like darv said! I took the switch housing off my bars for a little better access. Take the 3 small screws out to access the switch. Remove the small screw on the plate and remove the switch. Push the botton through the rubber grommet and reassemble.
I was at the dealer yesterday and they had some ski's on display for sale. They are wider in the front than the rest of the ski. Don't have a pic, but is anyone using these? I have an '08 MTX. The ski's were listed for $138.95 each.
So is there anything I can do to my stock skid..other than replacing it! I hear of people doing 4 and 2 wheels kits? I would like to do whatever I can to improve the sled for this year, and work on a new skid next spring/summer. Thanks!
Thanks for the help OTM!! I've been reading all the stuff u and Nikolai have done, just freakin' awsome! This will be my second year on a snowmachine, so...think i might do a few other things and start the skid swap next spring.
