"I have a 162 skid from a m8 and a track from a apex 162x16 I would like to trade them for a 153 track and skid setup Needs to be 153x15x2 or more. Also can throw in a float conversion skid that is a 141 m7 skid It has been converted to fox float rear and a zero pro front. One of the rails is bent. "
I was thinking about calling this guy. Been reading the skid swap threads. I have an '08 153. I have my machine torn apart now fixing the frame, doing undertunnel...pretty much getting ready for this winter. What do you guys think about this deal? I'm a snow rookie also so...too much??
Thanks for your help guys! I've learned alot the past few weeks on here! Great site!!

It is difficult to get a 16 inch track in a nytro without it rubbing. The Cat skid takes some work also but is not that difficult. If you want to give it a try there will be many on here willing to guide you along the way, but the stuff doesn't just drop right in.

I didnt notice the 16 wide! Thanks Hugger! I have been reading all the goods on here and got excited when I seen this ad. I understand this isn't a drop in conversion, and would be asking this site for all the help. I think I will probably skip this upgrade for now...don't want to get in over my head.

If you want to stay with the cat skids, the 141/162/153 Cat skids all share basically all the same suspension parts and the 153/162 share tunnel mounting locations, the only difference is the rails... so you have choices. If you want a 153 skid, and your 162 AC already has a bent rail, just troll the ty4stroke and snowestonline classified for 153 rails....they come up often (you can also buy them for under $400 new)
On the track side, Hugger is right, stay away from the 16 inch, the tunnel is too tight..and since all paddle tracks take a beating I'd consider your options for a new Challenger Extreme or Powerclaw 15x153x2.25.
I think you already have most of the pieces you need to do the conversion, you only really need a track and rails.
OTM
Oh yeah, I forgot one thing. If you are mixing and matching parts, the AC 141 has a longer front skid Fox Zero shock (12.5" on the XF vs 11.25" on the M series). That's the only other difference aside from rails.

So is there anything I can do to my stock skid..other than replacing it! I hear of people doing 4 and 2 wheels kits? I would like to do whatever I can to improve the sled for this year, and work on a new skid next spring/summer. Thanks!
