MCX will announce their kit(s) to Viper in Aprill

I do not know any hp numbers from the stock SR Viper prototype that was dynoed by MCX (they are for sure not allowed to talk about this). But I do remember the first FX Nytro produced 124 hp in their dyno. Not the 135-140 hp that some people see with other dynos.

Talked to my salesman at the sneak peek

...and if the swedish dealers were not disappointed in the scheduled delivery dates, they are now seriously pissed off about the limited number of sleds that they will get. The biggest dealer in northern Sweden was expecting to sell more than hundred SR Vipers. He will get no more than twenty...

    Big Sleds

Based on riding my 1993 Vmax-4, I have to agree. Feels like riding a small go kart...with a massive weight at the front. In the case of the Vmax-4, I would say the rider ergonomics are really short and compact compared to modern sleds, but on the other hand, the engine compartment is massive...

MCX will announce their kit(s) to Viper in Aprill

And one more example from a 270+ hp MotoGP bike. You think they would design a full circle bend right at the end of the exhaust if this would rob horsepower...?

    Ski options

I seem to remember I did see the Tuner Ski in the SR Viper accessory catalog...? On the other hand, the Arctic Cats have worked very well with SLP Powder Pros. Most guys around here have them.

MCX will announce their kit(s) to Viper in Aprill

Unless you have had several header designs on the dyno for comparison, that is just uneducated speculations. Do some reading. There is no evidence whatsoever that a bend with relatively big pipe diameter and big bending radius robs horsepower. The header is designed like this because primary...

Talked to my salesman at the sneak peek

Talked to my local dealer this morning. He happens to be an Arctic Cat as well as Yamaha dealer so he can compare information from both companies. The official word from Arctic Cat is that ZR7000, XF7000 and CT7000 are scheduled for delivery "during December". Arctic Cat dealers are pissed off...

    RIVETS FYI

That exact rivet IS Yamaha's most common chassis rivet (part number 90267-47195-00). http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php?t=120172

Talked to my salesman at the sneak peek

Weird. Yamaha Motor Scandinavia has got their snowcheck thing going until 30 of June. On the other hand, we will likely not see any sleds before New Year. The last Arctic Cat models to be assembled will be the Yamaha based 7000 models and then the SR Vipers will be assembled. This means November...

    Chain Tensioner

All Arctic Cat 129" and 137" are 2.86" pitch. All Arctic Cat 141", 153" and 162" are 3.00" pitch. This will be the same in the SR Viper, for sure.

    Viper Lands In Manitoba

Well, not since the 1992 Vmax-4...a binding, inconsistent secondary almost destroyed it's reputation during the release season. Also, I do not for a second believe that the Yamaha clutches are much better than the cat clutches, especially not from a design point of view. Ever heard about...

    Viper xtx off trail

Also no demo rides over here, but I have had a XF1100 with that exact skid on trail as well as off trail. The off trail performance is not comparable to a proper mountain sled, but it is for sure much better than the FX Nytro XTX. The AC 141" skid is a non-coupled design that is much more off...

    Chain Tensioner

It doesn't. You are the one that started dropping details about the redesigns Cat did for 2013, so I assumed it was OK to fill in...?

    Viper Naturally Aspirated Performance Parts

I don't know if that is the case, but it looks like the OEM muffler is quite heavy. So, a lightweight aftermarket muffler would for sure be possible to sell. Personally, I would not be worried if it does not add horsepower (which is the likely scenario) as long as it is a lot lighter. An...

    Scandinavian specific models

I agree it is a bit disappointing, but this is a deal between Yamaha Motor Scandinavia, Ohlins, a pivot riser manufacturer and a sticker manufacturer. Maybe other countries want to do the same thing but practical things like production capacity come into play...? The sleds are actually...

    Chain Tensioner

Redesigned for 2013 or not, there was still a recall to change the shift fork on some 2013 models. http://www.arcticchat.com/forum/cat-ser ... sleds.html Evil rumours indicate they ran out of redesigned parts and had to use 2012 parts to finish the 2013 sleds...The affected sleds were then...

    Scandinavian specific models

Don't know if you have seen this, but except for the SR Viper we will also get Apex TTX, FX Nytro TTX, FX Nytro X-Ride and FX Nytro M-Ride.

Rivets... Who used to sell them here?

Yamaha's most common chassis rivet (part number 90267-47195-00) is in fact an Avdel Stavex BS01-0618. http://www.avdel-global.com/en/products ... avexr.html

    SR Hybrid

With proper setup, the MonoShock skid is actually a capable rough trail skid. I would go as far as saying it is AT LEAST as good as the DualShock skid that sits in the FX Nytro. Unfortunately, Yamaha themselves blew the reputation of this skid. During the first couple of years, every...
