With all this talk of burned grounds and connections, is this just a bad design with all the ground wires tying together to a single ground with no redundancy.
Is anyone electrically savvy to know if it would be wise to run additional ground wires to ground or frame from some of these connection...
To start turn key to position 1. You should hear the fuel pump cycle...if it is super cold, it may not...this is frozen fuel pump relay...the one by your left foot...I kep a warm spare in my pocket always.
Then turn key to position 2 to engage the starter. You should hear the starter. if you...
I have 07 RTX.
I suggest Excell Wheels from Barn of Parts. (stock wheels are too small causing premature slider wear)
I suggest replace fuel pump relay with newer solid state one (07 older relay would condensate and freeze up causing no fuel pump click on )
I suggest clean or solder grounding...
If it was running good before you tore it down, I suggest it was something to do with the tear down. I hate to say it but you should go back in and check for pinched hoses (most likely) or missed electrical connections (these would give codes) You are not getting any codes?
Did you check the exhaust gaskets?
If you have backfire it is almost certainly bad exhaust gaskets...this site has write ups on how to repair these.
87 Gas is recommended for 06 in the manual

Been there.. also 3 feet of water
1: Get sled into somewhere warm
2: raise front end to get muffler below engine, and turn it over to get most of the water out of the engine..not too long, as oil will not be good any more
3: I did 2 oil changes and filter change before restarting, and another...
