Hey guys ,im having a little issue . and it started today after i shut the sled off for about 5 min.turn key and nothing ..but an engine symbol and code 11.when i turned the key off and tryed again nothing.did this 5 more times and it fired up -no codes and running great .put on some miles with no issues.shut it off and again SAME THING.started up and ran fine after i cycled the key again.fuel pump kicked on every time .
Code 11 ___ Cylinder Identification Sensor No normal signals are received from the cylinder identification sensor continues to operate the engine based on the results of the cylinder identification that existed up to that point?
Removed starter relay and cleaned very very little green inside of it.put back together and same thing no start ?
Has anyone had this code 11 show,or know where to look and what was the fix?
It will fire up ,run and idle smooth with power like always .
I hate electrical issues
Could it be grounding blocks??

The short answer is the stator. The ignition pick up is part of the stator and is likely faulty. Dig the specs out of the manual and use an ohm meter to check the resistance. Of it is out of spec or open, that's your problem. Fairly common issue. RM stator has a pick up replacement for low cost but usually needs to be modified a little to have the proper clearance with the reluctor on the end of the crank. Hope this helps and good luck!!

Thanks!
I could check it out.Code 12 is the pick-up coil not code 11 but they could be the same?? i havent seen or heard much of anyone with this code 11.it will start and run after 5 clicks and turns of the key? all the lights work, dash ,warmers idles great ,no codes when running.

Humm. That's a little different. Sorry to lead you in the wrong direction. The pick up is used as the crankshaft sensor. Anyone know if these things have a camshaft position sensor? That could be used for cylinder ident.

I should read a little closer, I'm falling a sleep sorry for posting the codes. It has been known to be caused by a voltage spikes. Check all your grounding blocks for corrosion first. Then relays and solenoids. Using dielectric grease on everything to prevent it from happening again. Check your baterry also for voltage and load test it. Good luck

Cylinder identification sensor is top, center, rear of valve cover.
See pg 590 in the manual under fuel injection. There is a write up on ecu diagnostics.

Hey thanks guys ! sorry for the late response been working, not on the sled tho..i have a manual but never go there cause i have no issues till now..figure i would ask here and see what my people had to say first.code 11 is really never a problem with these sleds that i know of.battery is good, and dielectric grease on ALL of the electrical i touched ,grounding blocks im going to look at,and this sensor and see what the crap is going on here.always stored indoors, towed in inclosed trailer let you guys know what i find ,when i get to it, when i get a couple hours ...

Same thing happened to my 06 Apex. I tried to start it over and over but would never whirl. Put it in warm garage for a couple hours and it started. In my case it may have been moisture on something and it froze sitting outside for the night.

Get some dielectric grease in everything and keep the moisture and frost out.

I am going to put dielectric grease in the connectors. Specifically the cylinder identification sensor. Is this sensor just a wire coupler? Is the sensor easy to replace if the grease does not solve the problem?

Dielectric grease is an insulator, clean the connections and then spray dielectric grease on the outside of the connector.

OK Sooooooo i found the problem! i tore into the machine last nite and see what i can find.
Panels off ,hood off ,headlight up and out of the way ,airbox out and turned key to start and CLACK ,thats what it sounded like cause i was right there..i hold the relay and turn the key again and CLACK ..starter relay !
Upon closer inspection i noticed some green ! what green ? WTF i dielectric grease this before ? hmmm so i took it out ,blew compressed air ,cleaned with electrical cleaner ,blew with air ,scrubbed ,blew with air ,electrical cleaner, blew with air ,dielectric grease and install.
NO issues since! fired up 10 times no problems! i make sure my things are well taking care of ,idk i must not put enough grease on..? but, i have a new one on order because its just feels right to me.
Im going to cut this old one in half and have a look, could be down inside too
So CODE 11 ?? corrosion does weird things with electrical .i never thought it would be the starter relay ? i heard it click ,but when its apart its a clack in my ears.
Hartatac you should check your starter relay !! i cant guarantee this is YOUR issue but i would take a look forsure!
I feel much better

I had the same thing happen twice on my 08 Apex, corroded starter relay terminals that is. Observation, after cleaning and polishing the connections, the white harness/connector that goes into the relay itself has female spade lug style connectors as I recall. From removing and installing this connector for oil changes and what not, I found that the curls on the sides of the female connector had relaxed enough that they were not "biting" the male connector as they should. I gave the curls a little squeeze to close them back up so they were almost touching the base of the lug so they were basically an interference fit with the male lug in the relay. Generous amount of dielectric grease as well.
FWIW, worked for me, never had an issue again, Cheers.

Where is the starter relay... is it one of the 3 near your left foot?
I will check mine also
